Jax, and Avaritus were now several minutes into the training of manipulating minds. Avaritus was doing his best to explain the subtleties of the act, and he was certain they were getting through, but he needed broader terms. But first, he would have a little fun.

For that purpose, he had brought one of the cleaning staff into the room just thirty seconds ago, informing him that they required his services. Continueing to speak with Jax, Avaritus said, "Now... This kind of mind alteration is very interesting. It accomplishes your task, and might even serve as a useful distraction. It's also funny as hell."

Looking over the the crewman, he said in his deadliest voice, "I'm going to kill you in the most unimaginably painful way. Now don't you just find that hilarious?"

After a few seconds, the man giggled a few times, then began chuckling, and then began laughing loudly. Avaritus just stood back and smiled, as the man fell to his knees laughing, then doubled over. After a full minute, the laughing was mingled with intermittent cries of pain, and gasping. Three minutes after, the laughing ceased, and the man lay there on the cold durasteel floor, unmoving.

Kicking the body, Avaritus gave a short laugh himself, and said, "At least his family will know he died happy..."

It took a few minutes, but Avaritus explained in detail how he had manipulated the man's mind, and various electrical signals to induce uncontrollable laughter. "Basically," he said coming to the end of his 'presentation', "You just have to find a funny memory of his, and replay it for his mind. From there, you keep the feeling he had at the height of that memory recirculating. The brain stimulates the area where humor is processed, and is unable to stop. It's the same premise for all other mind control, at least at a beginners level, only you don't recirculate the memory."

Looking back over at the dead crewman, Avaritus said, "If you want someone to agree with you, you just need to find a memory of sorts where they agreed with something. Just overlay that emotion that they were feeling at that time over your demand, or suggestion. Without context for the emotion the brain automatically assumes the most rational course of action. It 'tricks' itself into making the person think that your suggestion or demand is perfectly reasonable."

Avaritus hoped his explanation was simple enough to understand for a 'novice' but yet complex enough to explain exactly what he needed to do.

The Traumatize was filled with redundant personel, a wise move given Emperor Vader's fits of anger. As such, it was easy for Jax to find useless people to experiment on. his first attempt wasn't met with much success, the man too terrified to even speak as Jax spoke to him. Moving on to the next one, in his attempt to find the memory centers of the mans brain he instead touched the terror centers, and the man ran headlong, full-force at a durasteel wall, caving his skull in before dropping dead to the floor. Turning to Avaritus, Jax shrugged. "Apparently they all aren't as boneheaded as I first thought."

The third time was the charm, as the old Corellian saying went, and this time he did it right. Touching upon a memory as a child of a deckman he had passed, Jax knew he found his mark. Whipping around, Jax looked the man dead in the eyes, his voice a harsh whisper. "If you so much as think about looking down, I will eviscerate you and feed your still-living body to a rancor, and eat your heart while the beast gnaws on your ribs." The man smiled, then giggled, then started laughing. Pressing the advantage, he poured more of the Force into the man until he was cackling uncontrolably, coughing up blood and bits of his lung before he slumped to the bulkhead, dead, with blood running out of his mouth.

Turning to Avaritus, Jax cocked a brow beneath the faceless helm, his voice soft and slightly amused. "I've heard about being too happy to live, but this is ridiculous."

Carnor Jax assumed the bridge as Death Squadon exited hyperspace ont he outskirts of the system. All of the accompanying fleet remained at the edge of the system, away from the sphere of Denon's surface as the Executor dreadnought moved towards the planet. Taking a position at the communications console, he motioned for the tech officer to move away before flipping the comm, speaking in cool and clear voice.

"Rebel command and populace, this is Imperial War Liason Carnor Jax, current executive officer of the Imperial Executor-class Star Destroyer Traumatize. We are on peaceful expedition to the planetary surface. Numerous high-ranking officials would like to attend the funeral of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. Our weapons are powered down and our accompanying fleet is far outsystem.

"You have my personal assurance that no disturbance will be created by our presence save that which your own people bring. Requesting permission to land multiple shuttles on your planetary surface."

Jax flipped the comm off and waited for a return message, Avaritus' form standing beside the helm console to prepare for a sudden departure if necessary.

As Avaritus stood on the bridge of the Traumatize, he could feel himself beginning to seethe. Thirty minutes, and the rebels still had not responded. Narrowing his eyes, he pined for the previous war, regardless of it's length. He had taken great pleasure in the deaths of the rebels.

Smiling slightly to himself, he looked over to Jax, and made the comment, "Perhaps our arrival gave the top brass heart attacks. Either that or they're still rooted to their seats in terror."

"That's it."

Three more hours had passed. If he had his way the planet would be suffering the Empire's wrath for causing the delay. But, with a strength of will gleaned form years of training he pulled himself from that brink and slammed a hand on the communications console. "Hangar bay, prepare a shuttle for three, no pilot. Deploy one wing of TIE Defenders as an escort, weapons depowered, shields at maximum forward. I will pilot the shuttle. Send an envoy to inform Emperor Vader that the shuttle is ready at his convenience, and that I will be piloting the craft."

He turned to Avaritus, the blade of Force energy radiating like heat from the former Sovereign Protector's frame. His voice was soft, sharp as a vibroblade and just as deadly. "Avaritus, retrieve our packages from Yinchorr, and present Emperor Vader with his. I will be at the shuttle preparing it for our departure to the planetary surface."

Jax spun and stalked towards the turbolift, then paused and turned to the bridge crew. "Weapons depowered, keep capacitors primed in case anything happens. Keep the hyperdrives warm for us as well, if anything happens down there we need to make sure we can get out of here ASAP." The turbolift doors closed, and Jax descended into the belly of the behemoth Dreadnought, making his way to the hangar bay. His boots thudded on the durasteel deckplates, his forearm backhanding anyone that didn't get out of his way fast enough, leaving them dazed and slumped against the bulkheads.

Avaritus did as he was told, and made his way down to the hangar bay. The new toys that Jax had provided would be quite useful. He wondered how the man had obtained them, but would save that question for a later time. For now, he was trying to contain his rage.

Outwardly, he seemed calm, almost detached. But inside, his emotions ran wild. He could sense the presence that had robbed him of victory. He would never forget the force presence of that individual. Jase Denora was on Denon...

As he made his way into the hangar bay to retrieve the packages, and head for the shuttle, Avaritus had to force himself to unclench his jaw, and his fists. It would do him no good to come unhinged in Vader's presence. All Avaritus could hope for was that the fool made an appearance at the funeral... Maybe then he would try to exact revenge for the child Avaritus had killed. Smiling, Avaritus let the images of a battle to come play out in his head, fueled by murderous thoughts.

Jax was seated at the pilot's console, already wearing the outfit of choice for the funeral: Traditional Sith armor and a black cloak. This one, however, was embroidered with black high-gloss thread, the Sith runes for "Olethros" running down the column of his spine. He turned to Avaritus, his voice calm, quiet as his brown eyes looked to the Sith Apprentice.

"Calm yourself, Lord Avaritus. We are not here to settle vendettas, nor to avenge victories lost. We are here at Vader's request, and we will honor that trust that has been placed with us for as long as we are on this planet. There will be more than enough time to manipulate Denora into confronting us... there is darkness in him, it can be exploited. For now, though, patience is key. Recall my teachings, Avaritus, and you will persevere."

Jax rose as Avaritus donned his own armor, laying a hand to the mans shoulder before striding to the base of the loading ramp of the shuttle, hands clasped beneath the black cloak, at the hollow of his back. To await his Emperor's arrival.

The guard of the Emperor stepped forward. They lined the space before the ramp into the shuttle. I entered to the formality of perfectly aligned stormtroopers, saluting my departure. Behind me, I heard the steps of General Onca and Admiral Onca, who rode on his vehicle.

I walked forward and joined Olethros and Avaritus. "Are the preparations complete?"

Following the funeral, Jax was in an incredibly foul mood. Stalking through the halls, his presence was a dark cloud, the Force leaking from his tight constraint to fill those unfortunate enough to be close to him with an unshakable sense of dread. He wanted to kill, to maim, to slaughter the idiots that stood between him and Kalydon, and tried to keep him from performing his duties as his Emperor's chief protector.

Ascending to the bridge, he talked down the center platform between the various systems control pits, his heavy bootsteps sending radiating impact through the durasteel, and into the bones of the operators. Finally, after a tense silence, he turned to address the bridge. "Signal the fleet. Death Squadron, fall into formation Gloriano and exit this system... I don't want to be near this pit of cowardice again unless I have full orders to reduce it to molten slag. Set course for Coruscant, flank speed, and signal High Admiral Piett that we are enroute. He is to assume command immediately following reversion into realspace. Execute."

The bridge crew stood dumbfounded for a moment... of course, Jax had taken command of the fleet at the Battle of Korriban, but Admiral Onca was still the ranking officer of the fleet. They stared at him a moment, which set the Sith Lord's blood boiling... they would never have considered remaining silent if it had been Vader to issue the orders. His restraint, so overtaxed by his time on the surface, finally decayed beyond tolerance; with a roar he turned and hammered his fist into one of the bars of durasteel between the transparent windows of the forward bridge, hard enough to create a serious dent in the metal. "NOW, you worthless piles of carbon!"

The bridge suddenly buzzed with activity, people running to stations, communications being sent in hurried tones, and with a shift that strained the inertial dampers the hulk of the Traumatize shifted to join the rest of its fleet, then set course for Coruscant. As the fleet entered hyperspace, Jax flexed his knuckles in the wake of the blow. He didn't feel a thing.

Death Squadron is enroute to Coruscant

With the slow whine of hyperspace deceleration the Lambda-shuttle Aquila reverted to realspace soon followed by a squadron of Tie Defenders that took up escort formation around the command shuttle. Immediately, hails from the defense fleet covered the comms board,

"Shuttle Aquila this is Coruscant control please submit clearance codes and flight plan."

Without a word the comms officer turned back to look at the Imperial Officer sitting in the high-backed nerf-leather chair who nodded, standing up and removing his rank cylinders - carefully the officer placed the small devices into their sockets and pulled up the clearance codes alongside the groups flight plan.

"Understood control, Aquila ST-78 code clearance grey, transmitting clearence codes and flight plan."

The group waited for a few moments before the security control sent them the all clear signal "Recieved Aquila, you are clear to proceed - transmitting necessary way-point coordinates, clear flying to you High Admiral Piett."

Piett took his code cylinders back from the comm officer and tucked them back into his uniform settling back in his chair - the shuttle jolted as its sublight engines kicked in. "Sable Squadron," muttered the pilot into his comms "Hold on my wing, we are starting our approach towards Death Squadron."

"Rodger, Aquila, Sable Leader confirms."

Piett rested the tips of his fingers together, to be called back into active service like this had not been expected - ever since he had taken a position at the Academy following the loss of the Executor he had expected never to be reactivated - but to be called back to take his old command on the Emperor's orders....it was unprecedented...

Keeping a tight formation with its escorts, the Aquila soared towards the north pole of Coruscant, and the Executor-class that hung in orbit above it - as soon as the sensors aboard the Traumatize hailed the shuttle. "Aquila, this is the Traumatize - what is your business?"

The comms officer aboard the shuttle had his hand halfway to the respond button before Piett stayed him with his hand "I will respond Lieutenant," he pressed his thumb down onto the comms unit in the arm of his chair, "Traumatize, this is High Admiral Piett, I am here to relieve Admiral Onca of his command."

There was a pause of a few moments before another voice came over the comms, "This is Admiral Onca, it is an honor to finally meet you High Admiral Piett - I will be taking command of IntelForce upon transfer of command."

"Understood Admiral, I am making my final approach."

High Admiral Firmus Piett is now in command of Death Squadron

"Priority transmission from Admiral Daala aboard the DSD Vituperative - information regarding contact with a former CIS warship."

Piett sighed, Daala, it didn't take much to remember the record attatched to that name - eager, too eager in his opinion - the proliferation of former CIS ships was nothing new, the young commander was probably overreacting.

The High Admiral glanced down into the crew pit at the officer that had made the report, "Did the ship display any hostile intent?"

The officer studied the information on his screen carefully before turning back to Piett "No sir, it apparently fled as soon as the Vituperative arrived at its destination, sir, the planet known as T'au."

Piett raised an eyebrow "T'au?"

The officer glanced at his commander "Its a planet in the Centrality, sir, home to a humanoid race known as the Tau - the Vituperative is tasked with establishing diplomatic relations between the Empire and the planet - according to recent intelligence reports the Tau are attempting to establish themselves as a power in that area of space."

Piett's expression of intrest quickly turned stern, "A would-be galactic power communing with possible rebel elements? Did the Vituperative get any information beyond the former alliegance of the ship?"

"An escape vector, a visual scan and a name registration, the Neimoidia - do you want me to cross-check the information with the Naval databank, sir?"

Piett waited a moment before nodding "Very good Lieutenant, send the current information to my ready room," he strode back down the Traumatize's command platform, "Captain Stadasky, you have the bridge until I return."

--

As soon as he was inside the closed space of his ready room Piett realxed slightly and padded over to his holoprojector summoning a rotating image of the ship the Vituperative had encountered, it bore no Alliance markings - in fact, it could easily have come right out of the clone wars. Imperial Fleet academy had plenty of files of the Providence-class in action - all of them indicated that it wouldn't be much of a fight once the Traumatize got a lock on it.

His comm unit flared a brilliant scarlet, indicating he had a waiting message - he removed it from his belt and activated it, "Piett recieving, Proceed."

"High Admiral," came the Lieutennant's voice, "the Neimoidia is flagged as a hostile vessel in the databank - level blue, indicating..."

"That it has attacked or threatened one of our allies, yes Lieutenant, I am very much clear on Naval code's thank you - where did the attack originate?"

"Devaron Sovereignty, sir - they shared all information on the attack with our liasons officers - apparently the Neimoidia attempted an issurection against the Sovereignty on Cato Neimoidia as well as agressivly negotiating for several Sovereignty planets."

"Thus making them as much as a threat to the Empire as they are to the Sovereignty - if these 'Tau' are communicating with hostile elements then they may very well present a threat to the Empire if they are allowed to expand their control in the Centrality further than they may allready have done - have you calculated the warships location based upon the information sent by the Vituperative?"

"Yes sir, their heading places them at Rinn."

Piett nodded to himself "Very well then," he returned to the bridge,

"Comms, send a transmission to General-Admiral Daala, inform her to proceed with her mission and to report any unusual circumstances directly to me, inform the rest of Death Squadron to prepare for departure, give me a direct link to the Captains of the ships, Astronavigation, plot us a course to Rinn - Helm, take the Traumatize out of orbit and prepare for jump." the High Admiral turned on his heel as the holo-images of the seventy one officers of Death Squadron flashed into view "Gentlemen I want every ship battle ready once we drop into realspace - full communications jamming and interdiction fields established - you have the information about our prey - I want its command crew alive, disable the ship - there will be severe reprimands if the rebels are killed."

With a joint salute their images flickered out, Piett turned back to his own bridge "Helm, jump."

Death Squadron has now moved to Rinn

The High Admiral had kept to himself for the majority of the time he had since returning to command of Death Squadron in his personal quaters - the violation by the alien creature and his subsequent bloodthirsty actions lay somewhat heavily on his shoulders still, not because he was responcible for the actions of the creature, but because he had allowed himself to be compromised upon his resumation of active duty - it had taken time to prepare himself to face the officers of the Traumatise and Death Squadron before he had finally come out from his quaters and called a holographic meeting of all the Captains on fleet comm - now, standing at the head of a table of holographic officers he pyramided his fingers and gave them all a curtesory salute which each one returned,

"You are all aware by now that my previous actions under this command where under a foreign influence that was not my own, and while I commend your willingness to follow any and all orders from your commanders you should be appraised that I am not bloodthirsty in my nature but understand the necissity of following the chain of command and not acting on impulse, and that I keep myself at a clean and regulatory appearence - it is allways a smart decision to know who your Commanding Officer is before you even presume to take his orders."

He noticed one or two sneers ammongst the Captains and a few looks of disblief at him admonishing them, "That said I am now properly in control of myself and now the fully active Commanding Officer of Death Squadron - should anyone wish to question the reassignment of Admiral Onca, I suggest you ask the Emperor himself." he nodded, "That will be all."

Silence.

That's all there ever was, was silence. Silence in the hangar bay, silence on Yinchorr, silence on the battlefront, silence everywhere. But not for long.

Olethros stood before a massive transparisteel window overlooking the surface of Coruscant. Specifically, the sinister spiderweb of the Imperial Palace was in view, just below the ship, which maintained a geosynchronous orbit some 20,000 kilometers above the structure. A plot of grandeur was forming in his head, and to do that he needed to acquire the services of two of the... less reputable men of the galaxy.

A commlink buzzed in his helmet. "Sir, two shuttles docking in the main bay. They used your security code."

"Send two Stormtrooper security detachments, escort them through private corridors to the conference room on level 13."

"Yes, sir." The commlink closed again, leaving him to his thoughts once more. It wouldn't take too long to set this up, and when it worked... it would be magnificent. Flimsiplast sketches sat on the table in the room, drawn by his own hand during the time since the 'party' ended. So far, he was the only one that knew what this meeting was about and, if he played his cards right... nobody would know until it was too late.

Continued from the restaurant...

A short shuttle ride later, the Master was onboard the ESD Traumatize - or, as Saxon would call it, Traumatise. Pretending to be impressed by the cavernous vessel, he was escorted through the myriad halls and corridors by his escort, who grew steadily impatient with him as he asked as many naive questions as he could conjure.

Eventually, he was deposited in the main Observation Deck by the two officers, who left with all due haste. Saxon stepped forward, and, expecting some exciting happenstance, said, "My Gods, it's you! I should have expected!" Whatever transpired, the conversation would at least have begun on a dramatic note, he thought.

Next time - Or DID he?

Don Michael Corleone, the Godfather, strode through the corridors of the Imperial warship, his cloak flowing behind him giving the impression of an overgrown hawkbat swooping through the bowels of vessel.

Adjusting his belt slightly Corleone looked to the Stormtrooper escort that had been kindly provided by the Empire for this meeting, looking upon the weapons Corleone’s face changed from his usual nonchalant expression of general contempt to one of sincere worry... what if the Empire had finally caught up with him?

It turned out to be, in actuality, that his particular services were required by one particular element of the Empire. I also came to pass that he was not the only mastermind of his speciality to be present aboard when he was deposited in the Observation Lounge shortly before the arrival of John Saxon, known in certain circles as The Master...

"My Gods, it's you! I should have expected!" Saxon said with an air of the overdramatic.

“Of course it’s me, Saxon,” Corleone replied, his nonchalant distain seeping through his pores, “who else would voluntarily inhabit the same Star Destroyer as you, for even a moment?”

"You may both dispense with the dramatics at your earliest convenience. If that convenience isn't early enough, I can certainly arrange for certain openings in your... schedules."

The former Sovereign Protector had been waiting in the lounge, hidden in the shadows of the darkened room to observe their first interactions. The way they seemed to mesh in their own unique, albeit grating way... it would serve well with the business venture to come. The doors hissed open again, this time to admit an ensign carrying a silver bucket filled with ice, the green glass neck of a wine bottle sticking out of its top, and a small covered platter.

Carnor Jax took another step into the light, letting the florescence throw reflections from the immaculately polished armor to the table and chairs before taking a seat at the head of the conference table there. He gestured, and two chairs slid of their own accord to accommodate the two men. His voice was grave, very business-like, and with very little emotion to color the timbre of his speech.

"To business. Mr. Corleone, 'Godfather' Corleone, I have a proposition for you that will end up making you a great deal of money if things fall into place... which I have a strong suspicion that they will. The condition of this arrangement is that you will have to tolerate the individual seated across from you for a time, long enough to ensure his name is properly respected and feared throughout most civilized systems.

"As for you, Mr. Saxon, 'Master,' your part in this can happen only after Corleone has his part in place. I ask you both if you are willing to agree to the contract knowing the details as they stand now, or if you desire to walk away. I cannot have the information I am prepared to offer getting to the wrong hands."
He let the irony of being willing to share secure information with the Butcher of Cerea and the Godfather of Naboo and being worried about information leaking out sink in a moment, before leaning back and folding his arms across his chestplate.

Black-gauntleted fingertips caressed the hilts of short vibroblades tucked in sheathes beneath his shoulders, ready to draw and throw at a moment's notice. There was a very low chance they would be needed... but one did not ascend to the rank he had obtained without knowing all the risks, and taking every contingency into consideration.

****, why does no one remind me about these things?

"Yeah, no probs," said the Master, and turned expectantly to Corleone.

“Whatever personal disagreements we may have,” Corleone speaks, finally, “will be put aside for business.” He pauses and finally takes his fedora-style hat off of his head, “though I will require assurances that my operations will not be interfered with after our business is concluded.”

"Good to hear. Now, to business."

His hands relaxed beneath the overcloak, and folded on the table before him. Junior crewmembers came in and laid silver dome-covered plates before the three. The covers were removed to reveal an assortment of high-end delicacies, ranging from rare caviar to cuts of expensive fish. A pop resounded, and three flutes of champagne were poured into waiting crystal before the bottle returned to its ice bucket.

A snap, and the Sovereign Protector removed his helm and laid it on the table, looking the two men in the eye seemingly at once. "I'd like you to prepare a press release, Corleone, for a new weapon that you will be unveiling. A dedicated offering to the Rebel army, superior to what they use now, and for less than half the cost." he took a bite of caviar, sitting atop a stone-ground cracker made wheat from one of their newest planetary acquisitions.

"You'll make fifty credits per unit sold, even though the manufacturing price will be thirty credits below your production costs. The Empire will pay the balance, to ensure your weapons are the ones that lie in their hands. There's a reason for that, the reason Mr. Saxon is here. He turned to face the other man, a smirk creasing his lips.

"You'll also be selling units to John, here, for him to give to his Toclafane. These weapons will have a very specific signature... and will result in a great many people believing that Mr. Saxon is in leagues with a Rebellion that is resorting to scare tactics to get systems to join their cause." Another bite, and a sip of the champagne, before he gestured.

"The more effective Mr. Saxon is in his act, the more systems will flock to Imperial protection... and the wealthier you will both become as the Rebels try to bolster their defenses. It is an inevitable chain of events."

A moment of silence, then he slid two pieces of paper to the two men. I've taken the liberty of routing some Imperial funds through phony companies in order to get the initial deposits to you. A hundred thousand credits each for agreeing to the terms. Corleone, your profits will come from the sales of the weapons. Saxon, you'll get two percent of the system's total taxes for a year immediately upon their agreement to join the Empire. Does this sound agreeable to you?"

I nodded slowly, the plan made sense. However there were two points that I was unsure of...
“There are two points I am unsure of...” I said as much because it was true, and I didn’t want to mess him around, “the first being this: I am to make a public statement to the galaxy that I will be selling cheap and efficient weapons to a known and illegal terrorist organisation and the Empire will do nothing about it? People will see it as a little strange. And second: After publicly announcing this weapon, and having the Alliance military wave it around to overcompensate for their lack of male genitalia, then suddenly my esteemed colleague mysteriously has the exact same weapons, would that not also implicate my organisation in Mr Saxon’s operations?”

Saxon smirked. "You're not thinking outside the box, Corleone." He raised his hand, as if he were lazily giving the Oath of Allegiance. "The plan is quite simple, really. It's like..." to the surprise of both men, he began to sing, in his pleasing, deceptively soft voice, "Gonna find my baby/Gonna hold her tight/Gonna grab some afternoon delight."

Jax spoke, "Mr. Saxon-"

"My motto's always been: 'When it's right, it's right/So why wait until the middle of a cold, dark night - you two can join in here."

"Mr. Saxon..."

"Wheeeen everything's a little clearer in the light of day - go on, join in - aaaaand you know the night is always gonna be there anywaaay-"

"Saxon!" barked Jax. Saxon remembered that Jax could crush his skull like an egg using only his mind.

"Sorry, what were we... oh yes, the plan," he said. "You just have to use a front organisation, clearly." He smiled, "You do know what a front organisation is, don't you?"

Corleone sighed softly and nodded, “of course I do. The point I am trying to make is that I personally am going to publicly announce my intention to sell weapons to terrorists, and then you’re going to be waving my weapons around. Front or no, it’s still going to be my neck on the line.”

He waved his hand slightly, “I could get someone else to do the release, but I’m the one that wants to look like a hero to the Rebels while getting rich.”

"I believe there is a more appropriate course of action. Mr. Saxon, I'm sure you can set up a small Rebel defense subcontractor for one of their outlying systems. Something small, small enough to avoid their overall view, but large enough to keep Mr. Corleone looking like he's simply following orders. It shouldn't be too difficult, their choices for chiefs of security have always been overly paranoid and, as a result, High Command pays little attention."

At the thought of the winged fiend, his fist clenched around the flute of champagne, shattering it in his armored grip. A pause, then a junior crewman brought another full glass to Jax, who accepted it without a word. His thoughts brooded on the woman, and on his own internal darkness.

"I can't decide whether you should live or die. Oh, you'll probably go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry. I wonder why my heart is dead inside - it's cold and hard and petrified. Lock the doors and close the blinds, we're going for a ride." He hummed softly to himself with the song as he swirled the champagne, then downed it in a fluid gulp before looking up to the other two men.

"Is there anything else either of you need?"

Saxon finished his champagne and set the flute gently down on the table, before picking up another. "I have all I require, which is my will to obey and love for the Emperor." He raised his glass. "Long live His Imperial Majesty!" he said, and he thought, quite literally, lol. Followed shortly by Did I just actually think 'lol'? WTF? Then, as usual, he heard another voice exhorting him to do bad deeds, and then there was the third one that just mumbled kill kill kill kill kill kill when he was having one of his moods. Oh well.
