You know, I can't wait for the day someone just comes flat out and makes an Evil-Class Dreadnaught or Death-to-All-Class Star Destroyer. You know, stops running around all these nasty sounding designs and just gets to the point.

No the Evil-class is to be one of the Confederate's most modernized Warships.

*unleashes Joinerizing weapons on the pilots*

Now that that is over with. I would recommend standing down or I will terminate Coruscant. :P

Too bad droids can't become Joiners...

Anyway, let's get back on topic... although Nevin's argument effectively ended the battle. :p

Quote:
There is nothing wrong with the superships that exist. Number 1 reason is the Empire's ESDs...most of the superships are to stand up against them. That is canon.

Proof? Evidence? Balance does not make canon. Also, the miniscule Rebel Fleet could stop an Executor - I think we could do the same. I was told that this game needs more strategy, tbh, these dumb things down.

Quote:
Secondly, most of the people that are criticizing superships haven't the SLIGHTEST idea how much it costs to research and build one. Chancellors and Akulas, as I personally know, both cost a great amount of research and a very high construction bill. Of course, I won't tell you what that is, since that would be abuse of OOC information, but take my word for it. It's not as if the Empire could buy 500 Akulas and ram them all into enemy ships and not bat an eye.

You only pay research once, and I wouldn't consider the Akula research expensive for the Empire.

Quote:
The ships are also perfectly legal. The only reason Chancellors, Akulas, etc were approved is because a lot of thought went into how to produce power equal enough to fuel the powerful weapons and shields. We also paid out the ass for that too.

The Akula payment isn't out the ass. Also, the Akula can hold 12,000 troops, but it has a massive power generator, supplying fire for thousands of Turbolaser, great shields (they resist the salvo of 8 Mandators, or 7 PAS').

A Standard ISD-II, a jack of all trades ship, can take an entire port side salvo from an Executor without destroying the shields, so why would a ship designed specifically for space combat be unable to do better?

Ion Salvo, actually.:p

And VVD, not to be harsh, but you have no idea what you're talking about with the Akula. Your figures are all incorrect, and yes, the Akula was expensive to research and is costly to build.

If you're going to debate, at least know from where you speak.

Uh, have I not been told on multiple occasions by yourself that the Akula-class Mark I costs 6,000,000,000 to make, along with 50,000,000,000 to research. For what the Imps make that is very few funds.

Are you people still griping about the Akula? Sheesh. The only thing I have to say about it is how much of a thrill it was to be the first to test it. And to think, Brote could have killed Nubis during that engagement. Hm.

A billion credits is hardly pocket change, VVD... even to the Empire.

I make 5500. It's enough. Insanely high pay rates just cause problems. :p
