Making it a tactical game would further alienate those of us who don't have fleets.

There has to be a problem with the system ATM cos everyone is far too scared to attack a planet. Why? Cos they're defended by thousands of turbolasers or those damn IMC guns.

Trench warfare in space!

Uhh, there's nothing wrong when people use strategy instead of Hollywood bullshit heroics to get the job done. :p

It's not hollywood bullshit heroics to attack somewhere. Even if you outnumber and outgun the enemy it'd be impossible to win because of the multitude of defences!

World War Two was a war. How was that won?

No defense is unbreakable. They just get really hard, y'know?

Then why don't you attack an Alliance world, and prove it?

How many IMCs can take down an Akula? How many ground turbolasers, mines, PHICs, v-150s...

And my shields were disproved. Sadly no molecular shields :(. And yes I think I know a way to stop them. (So they aren't OP)

That hollywood heroics makes stories, Ams, ones that are interesting to read. If Star Wars was full of the some of the crap we are enforcing here, I probably wouldn't be interested.

I'm not saying we take away tactics, I love that portion of the game, but I do wish we add some character development-hollywood crap. (Sorta like the ending of VII and the Mon Calamari exploding without a trace of Flint's killers....)

The RPG should NOT be filled with these kind of scenarios, however, perhaps we could be allowed such things once in-awhile, like one hollywood moment in three months? (Approved by CMAC)

I actually tend to agree with that. *looks at Moff, then away*

Anyway...crazy moments are ok once in awhile, but the problem is, they usually get out of hand. I would like for the players here to have more freedom, and CMAC feels like we're adding another niche to the wall every time we reject something (at least I do). If we were to see more plots that didn't involve one character against the world (I'm not implicating anyone, but I'm just using that methodology as an example), plots wouldn't need CMAC permission.

Well I have a great idea for CMAC to add in plots for people to go on... create bounties... create need for security and excellent RP chances... just need Mr. Ams to get on MSN.

What about Han? I trust her judgement as well as Cray's... and sometimes more than my own. :p

I second that Ams!

(haha, j/k)

Just to clear the air, I think all CMAC admins do their job very, very professionally, if that makes sense, and still have some fun. So its all good. They each have their area of expertise, but other than that, i look to them for advice constantly.

Trust me... the plan is going to start... if people start actually approving purchases (points to Arlyn and CEC)

Please...an civilian that nobody knows and with no previous record (an NPC you just made up) buying a multi-hundred million doller military ship plus a large number of smaller multi-million doller ships that are often associated with the military, and then having them sent to a secret location?

Anyone here that finds that would find that suspicious raise their hand.

*Raises hand*

Well since there are no neutral ship makers left to buy from what am I supposed to do?

How the hell else did the Black sun pirates start out? Hell there are illegal ways to get ships like these.... just doesn't exist in this RPG....

Or maybe no one found them yet. The admins aren't here to hold everyone's hand and walk them to nearest abandonded fleet. We actually expect you to be somewhat self-sufficient.:p
