Volytar spun to face the Jedi behind him raising his saber before him and pressing forwards with the force - he caught the energy surging towards him on the tip of his saber and focused it down the blade like a lightning conduit before swinging aside the tip of blade with a discharge of energy - his own pressure within the force caught against Yoogle's he tried to press it back but the energy was to evenly matched, with a snarl he pressed down diverting both waves of force energy into the roof of the car, ripping a hole in the durasteel.

Pushing the children further down towards the front engine of the hovertrain he stopped them there and came clanking back down the train to the short Jedi Master, "Well Jedi, I did not think there were any of your species left in the universe - Master Yaddle and Yoda were surely lost years ago? The you must be Yoogle, hnnmnm, I remember little of you." he deactivated his lightsaber and clipped it to his side - he lifted his hands infront of him curving the gauntlets into claws sparks of electricity surged up his arms and into the orbs formed by his hands - with an almost feral snarl he streached his arms out in a hail of lighting that curled around and towards the Jedi like a storm.

--

Mercurius grunted in pain and forced himself to his feet - bringing his blade up to meet another slash from the blond jedi - the pain from his wound was blurring his vision - he ripped his mask off so he could see without the goggles of his mask imparing him - forcing his blade against hers he brought his face into the light - it was completely hairless with a flat nose - he didn't look human at all, something like a pale subterainian species. He snapped his blaster out of its holster and tried to shoot the woman Jedi under the saberlock - she snapped her blade out of the lock and defelected the shot - dropping the gun he slid out of lock he slid back and slashed across - towards her midrift but he swung wide, Karis jumped in and swung hard.

From her own duel Shiva heard the soft thud of Mercurius's head hitting the ground feeling his spirit depart the force bond in a wave of terror - she smirked under his own hood, he had been aging and sloppy - his departure removed all the blocks between her and her lord now she was his loan apprentice. She battered the older Jedi's block upwards and plunged a focused hand into a nerve cluster causing him to grunt and collapse in pain, stepping over the disabled Jedi she faced Karis - tugging Yuunthars blade off the ground and igniting it. She curved both blades infront of her, mantislike, and waiting for the Jedi to attack - "You have done me such a great favor like you do not know jedi - but you will still fall to me."

A massive storm of Force lightning shot from the Dark Jedi after a hissing taunt of Yoogle's painful past. The Force filled within the short Grand Master, filling him with the much needed energy, as he mastered the next move. Positioning his arms, he collected the Force lightning into an absorption of energy. The bright blue fatal energy crackled violently into Yoogle's palms as he closed his eyes, the pressure of keeping the absorption was difficult, but the Dark Jedi's words rang throughout his mind. Master Yaddle and Yoda were surely lost years ago? Determination surged through his body as a new spirit of energy burst within him and he completed the last of the absorption. Opening his eyes to the Dark Jedi, Yoogle stood defiantly.

"The last I may be, but so are you, Dark Jedi." Yoogle knew the battle needed to end here and now, but if the man managed to escape, he would recruit and grow, but eventually, Yoogle would see the end of it's days and the destruction of everything he built. What was odd, was this man seemed to testify of the existence of Yoda and Yaddle. Knowing he was part of the Order Yoogle sent a wave of energy around them, feeling the children at the front part of the train and their fright, and ultimately attempting to feel the emotions and the past of the Dark Jedi.

In the meantime, Yoogle began to run and with a twist of his body he leapt into the air and over the hole caused by the Force energy. Igniting his lightsaber, yet still attempting to keep the mental search, Yoogle moved with new intensified energy. Knowing they were closely matched, Yoogle needed time to get to the children. A brilliant green blade moved in a blur as Yoogle danced around the Dark Jedi, his mental search close to penetration...

***

A purple saber hissed in the air as it blocked the Dark Jedi's violent move. Her disregard for the life of her companion was bloodcurdling, but the violently disabled Yuunthar brought fire to Karis' eyes. Her arms moving rapidly as the one of the best duelist in the Order fought off the twin blades. The Force guided her movements, as they danced across the front entrance of the Solo residence. The woman was executing perfect movements, where Karis began to slip.

Karis Force jumped several meters away, taking a much needed energy break, meditating and almost praying that the Force would continue to guide her movements. She required assistance, as her foe was unyielding with adrenaline far more superior to her own. The woman leapt violently and more quickly than anticipated, Karis bringing her blade around just in time before it slashed her torso.

The woman seemed to be enjoying herself, yet Karis was unable to break her opponent as they furiously continued their duel. The more it progressed, the worse Karis was becoming. Her blade swooshed now, only to protect herself from death, versus any offensive moves that could disable her opponent. Using the last of her energy, Karis spun her blade over her head and slashed downwards, only to be stopped by Yuunthar's once benevolent blade. The dark woman's hand extended and storm of Force lightning ensued.

Unlike Grand Master Yoogle, Karis could not muster the energy to absorb. Her knowledge of the Force was inadequate as her flesh seethed with the tormented lightning. Twitching, Karis fell to the ground with a grunt, her head slamming against the pavement.

Blood trickled down her eyes.

Shiva stepped over the defeated Jedi and bent down to prize her lightsaber from her grasp, she chuckled and slid the weapon into her belt before noticing the streaks of blood running down the side of the womans head. The tip of her tongue slid out and traced the line of essence up the womans cheek to her ear, "I don't have time to finish you now Jedi...but next time I certainly with far more fun - I've tasted your blood, and I want more." she stood up and stalked over to Mercurius's fallen form, taking his lightsaber and identifying items, she rolled the body and head in his cloak and pulled out a small aerosol can which she spread up and down his body. Flamable acid began to knaw away at his form long before she set light to it - removing all usefull evidence - a co-active mutagen mutilating his dna beyond recognition.

The female Inquisitor checked her wrist mounted holodisplay for her masters position and noted the inbound transport - with a grin she dissappeared into the darkness and rain.

--

Yoogle successfully prised a hole into Volytar's head dreging up something in the core of his memories,

A long corridor, so long it seemed to streach for millions if miles to a beeing as small as the one Yoogle felt he was seeing it through - the image clicked to something in Yoogle's own mind, the Chuunthor, he was standing on the Chuunthor...which made the Dark Jedi one of the former members of the old jedi order - he felt a strong hand on his shoulder and glanced up besides him, guided by the memory - a faceless jedi with long blond hair.

Yoogle was afforded another flash, this time there was pain and hurt and a sense of betrayal - white armour and the Jedi...the Jedi threw the child in their way to save himself in his haste and in a flash Yoogle realised what a Jedi had done to him, realised why he and his entire kind was hated by this beeing so much, realised that nomatter what the creature would hunt them untill either he or they were dead.

The images suddenly broke off as the white heat of anger surged over him - he was driven violently from Volytars mind, he had touched where he did not belong and the other force user was mad with rage - blinded by the sudden severed link from the Dark Jedi's mind he could not possibly defend himself from the wave of anger driven force energy blasting him off his feet and sending him hurtling backwards down the train, he hit the roof of a carridge further down and bounced hard off its surface digging his claws in, hard, to stop himself from falling from the train.

The piercing whine of repulsorlift thrusters broke Volytar's angry concentration as the Inquisitorius transport hovered into view the dark form of Shiva present in the cockpit, its cargo ramp open like a krayt dragons maw, awaiting the lost and dark - the Grand Inquisitor hauled both children with him as he leapt for the entrence - but with his own anger causing him more trouble with concentrating he lost his grip on Jonash's wet collar and dropped the boy on the roof of the hovertrain, carrying Jaina alone with him into the ship. His fumble gave Yoogle the precious time to get between the child and Volytar - the Jedi's gaze met an approximation of the Inquisitors one and they remained locked until Volytar retreated into the transport the hatch sealing behing him.

"Destroy the train."

"But Master, the other child...."

"We have one, we do not need the other, destroy both of them!"

This brought waves of hatred and anger and a new wave of screaming and kicking from the girl, she struck the Inquisitor as hard as she could- he glared down at her and pressed two fingers to her forehead commanding her to sleep, unable to resist him at such a untrained state she collapsed allowing him to carry her to one of the prisoner bunks.

As the ship rose away from the hovertrain a small quad-cannon slid from its underbelly - the weapon hailing blasts of deadly red energy down on the hovertrain - the shots were sloppy, Shiva did not intend to waste such a valuble asset but she had to follow her masters commands - a telltale flash of blue began to surge across the skies meaning the planetary shield was beeing raised - with a burst of speed the transport broke the antmosphere and shot off into space the shield closing with a flash of energy behind it - there came a slow whine as the ship curved between two defence force cruisers and then it jumped to hyperspace.

A quad-cannon suddenly revealed itself from underneath the transport and Yoogle knew he would fail to gather enough energy to save the entire hover-train. Running across the top, Jonash cried for his twin sister, his hands outstretching to the departing transport, as Yoogle leapt. Grabbing the boy, they tumbled off of the train and into the rainy skies of Denon. The boy screamed as he hung onto the Jedi Master, a ball of Force energy engulfing the pair as his sobs were silenced by the brilliant explosion behind them. Yoogle's mind raced through the oncoming traffic, attempting to locate a speeder of Jedi or Alliance friendly civilians. Beneath them, Yoogle detected a familiar face and a woman that had arrived only moments too late.

Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad and her caravan of Security escorts soared towards the exploding hover train, that was now pludging to the surface. The casualities could be hundreds of thousands, but the lead security vessel soared for the falling Jedi and Solo child. Jonash whimpered the sorrow of his sister being torn away from him still tormenting his mind. The boy clutched Yoogle's robes and tears merged with the rain drops. With pity and love, Yoogle conveyed a thought of hope. The child looked at Master Yoogle with wide eyes as the hope filled the child with determination. His tears were relentless, yet a new emotion stirred within the boy. A sense of calm started to overcome the boy, most likely temporary, yet the boy's courage grew.

The Force halted their fall slightly, the wind currents taking the small humanoids to the speeder that had accelerated underneath them. After the speeder top had removed and recoiled, the thanagarian opened her wings and arms. Ready to launch herself into the air, if Yoogle had missed the target landing. The Force obeyed his commands as he landed next to the winged lady. Sitting between the security chief and Master Yoogle, Jonash did not release from the small Jedi.

"Grand Master Yoogle..." the brunette woman started, but Yoogle held out his hand. The child looked at the thanagarian and asked innocently where his sister was. Arlyn lowered her voice softly and kindly answered, "We will find her, Jonash." The boy protruded that he was going to assist, but Arlyn smiled and confirmed that he would be an asset in 'getting his sister back'. Arlyn and Yoogle's eyes met and she wished to question further, but obviously, now was not the time.

Meanwhile, Yselia aimed the security caravan back to the Jedi Temple as Yoogle reached out with the Force. Victory was not with his Jedi companions, as both had been violently disabled. Closing his eyes, Yoogle tried to reach out to the dark mind that he had just fought. Wherever this man was going, the child known as Jaini was now in the path of darkness.

Mustering the hope he had shared with Jonash, Yoogle would assist in the search of the young soul and return her to the light before it was too late. His large green pupils opened and met the rainy sky. The Temple illuminated in the distance and it would be there, Yoogle would sit for many hours and meditate over the images he saw.

"W-what?" Han eased his struggling and didn't so much as flinch as this Lochley began to wipe at his brow with a towel. In fact, nothing she did seemed to matter or bring about a reaction from him except her last set of words: "I'd assume they took your children as they aren't here either."

Pushing the hand that dabbed his head to the side, Han rose shakily to his feet with an intense hatred burning deep within his hazel eyes. He might've let the bastard off with besting him in a fight, but there was no way in all the Nine Hells that he was gonna get away with his kids. Concussion or not, he was gonna personally hunt him down and end this once and for all.

"Stay outta my way," he growled as he attempted to push himself forward on his injured foot. "The bastard just made this personal..."

"Woah take it slow, you're in no shape to go after him." She put a hand on his shoulder and firmly sat him back down again. "Think first before you act, if you jump headfirst into a fight the way you are now chances are you'll get your head shot off..." She grimaced when she looked at his foot, it was broken in two places, "...especially with a broken foot."

She pulled out her commlink, "This is Major Lochley, I'm at the Solo residence. There's been a break-in and a kidnapping, immediate backup requested plus a medical unit."
She looked around and grabbed a nearby pillow and propped his leg and injured foot on top.

"I'll be right back" she went into the kitchen and grabbed some ice, put it in a bag and wrapped it in a towel. "I have to warn you, this may not be pleasant" she put the ice on top of the break. "This should numb the pain and keep the swelling down for now...now tell me, who did this?"

"Look," he grumbled in irritation as she returned with an ice packet. "You don't understand. First of all, I don't need no nurse to--ACK!" His protest was choked off as Lochley set the makeshift ice packet on his foot, sending a rush of pain up his leg and coiling his hands into fists. When the pain eased to a more bearable level, Han relaxed a bit and allowed his hard gaze to fall on the woman standing over him.

"Dammit!" he exclaimed, even more irritated. "That hurt! And I dunno!" He let his gaze fall from her face and turned to focus on the skylanes rushing by beyond the broken window. The wind that was freely coming in through the opening tugged at his hair as he allowed his thoughts to linger on Jonash and Jaina once more. "He was wearing a kriffin' mask and I couldn't get a good look at his face. Had the Force, though..."

He paused here, another wave of anger crossing over his rugged features as his balled fist connected violently with the arm of the chair. "It ain't fair, dammit! How the hell were a bunch of kids supposed to stand up to him with the Force, huh?! They had no chance! If I ever get me hands on that blood-sucking son of a--"

The look on Lochley's face halted him in his tracks and he just simply blew out a sigh. Maybe he was overreacting, but they took his kids. He had that right. "Just---forget it," he surmised as he ran a hand through his hair.

The look on her face took on a hint of sadness, "Nothing in this life is fair it seems Admiral, once before I lost someone very dear to me so I can understand how you feel."
She looked around hoping to see some kind on military transport or police unit through the windows but to no avail. "Your children are still alive and we'll get them back...all the while hanging the bastards responsible. I'll personally help see to that."

She sat down on the floor and sighed, "It'll probably be a bit before relief can get here... the regular forces on both sides have always been slow to react to emergencies."

"You don't need to lecture me 'bout the 'woes' of life," he sneered, his eyes once again turned toward the window as he hung onto a shred of hope. "I came from the bottom, remember? I know all about the rotten hands life can deal. And ya know what?" He turned to her then, face obscured by a deep scowl. "I was actually stupid enough to believe things could get better. Well, they ain't now, are they?"

Another heavy sigh escaped his lips as a sudden craving for a good Corellian whiskey came to mind. It's been a while since he broke out the good stuff and he realized it was because life had been too easy. Now that life had thrown him another wild card, Han found himself wanting to fall back on old habits. One of them was drowning himself in alcohol until his troubles were washed away. But in this situation, would that really help to bring back his kids?

"I can't just wait around here for them to pick us up," he stated as he allowed his leg to slide off the object Lochley had propped it up on. A wince crossed his features briefly as his foot jarred against the floor on impact. "I ain't helping 'em here and I need to find Leia. You got a comlink?"

Her look of sadness quickly turned into one of frustration.
"And you think I didn't come from the bottom? I grew up in the slums of Nar Shadaa, at the age of eight both my parents, both of my brothers and my only sister were brutally executed in front of my own eyes by a Bounty Hunter, after that I busted my ass to get through this miserable thing called life. A few years ago my very own fiance was gunned down under Imperial rifle fire with me unable to do a frakking thing about it. I know how hard things can get, trust me on that."

She grumbled as she got up off her seat. He's just as stubborn as Kal was, if not more so she thought. She searched in her jacket pocket and tossed him the link, "Here."

Han's brow lifted curiously as the woman standing above him spewed out her inner thoughts. Apparently he hit a soft spot - something he seemed to be good at with women, but this wasn't in a good way. She seemed to be blaming him for what happened to her in the past. Trying to show him up and prove that she had the rougher life with her pity story. Well, if she truly thought that, she had another thing coming.

The story of his orphaned childhood on the streets of Coronet and the abuse and torture he endured while working for Garris Shrike were on the tip of his tongue, but he thought wiser of it. Not even Leia knew such intimate details about his past. No use just throwing them out there to some stranger he just met. Besides, he made a promise to himself long ago not to dwell on past events or let them effect how he led his life. This Lochley woman obviously had some issues with that.

"Hey, take it easy, sister," he admonished with raised hands. "You don't need to go all crazy on me like that. Just trying to prove a point. And, uh, I see you got it. But next time, maybe you should think about who you're venting to. 'Cause just maybe that other guy had it worse than you and knows better. And in which case, take their advice."

He flashed her a veiled smile before taking up the comlink she passed to him and raising it to his lips. It took a moment for him to dial in the right frequency and waited....

Nothing but static.

"Ah, kriff, Leia," he swore before switching the small device off and closing it within his fist. Why couldn't anything ever go right?

She walked towards the window away from Solo, taking in what he was saying. "No I'm not blaming you for any of my troubles, just offering the possibility that I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to personal loss. If I went a little overboard I apologize, it's just that I never could get payback to any of those responsible for my fiance or my family. That never sat well and it still burns to this very day."

Something struck her and she nearly stumbled, a flash of heat and images like when she met Denora. She caught herself on a nearby table and rubbed her forehead. "Coronet" she said. She spun around to face Han, "I...I'm sorry, I didn't know. I should have held my tongue." She backed off and leaned against a wall with her head lowered. How the hell did I get that? she wondered.

Multiple security speeders arrived as dozens of Security officers entered the house. Security Captain Denzel Koffing entered and found Solo and the Major. "Admiral Solo, sir!" he saluted, "We would like to get you to the Jedi Temple, sir! Where you can receive medical attention and a debriefing from the Security Chief, sir!" He saluted again. For security reasons, he could not disclose that they had rescued one of his missing children. The naval forces had failed to pursue and stop the fleeing vessel, but that was no longer under Security's jurisdiction.

Moving throughout the Solo residence, the security captain ordered a bomb squad, debug, and the works to scan and sweep their residence. Anything left behind would be found and removed, but for now, they would evacuate the ex-Commander In Chief. Taking a look back at the battered pair the captain asked, "Major...Elizabeth Lochley, would you accompany the Admiral to the Jedi Temple? If so, take him to speeder six hundred sixty-five." With another salute and 'sir', the captain stood by to escort Han outside and watch his departure to the Temple. Dozens of droids entered the house and began to sweep and look for any kind of leftbehind scum the intruders may have planted.

"How do ya know about that?" Han mumbled quietly as he watched the woman cautiously. Han thought her a little crazy for losing her calm over a simple conversation earlier, but the deal was sealed now. How the hell did she read his mind? Only two possibilities came to mind - some psychic ability or the Force. I really need to stop attracting these kind of people, he mused while rubbing a hand through his hair.

In any case, he clamped down on his memories and tried to shove them out of his mind for now. He didn't want her picking up anymore unpleasant surprises from his past. Han wasn't ready to share them with the rest of the galaxy yet - if ever.

"Uh, maybe we should just drop--" A loud crash suddenly broke the silence within the living area as someone or something broke down what was left of the front door. Reacting purely on instincts, Han jumped quickly to his feet, the adrenaline pumping through his blood masking the pain radiating from his broken foot for the moment, and pulled a concealed vibroblade from an ankle sheath. The blade was alive and humming with a simple flick of the wrist as the first wave of intruders entered the home.

Han clenched his teeth and prepared to throw the blade at the lead man when he started barking orders:

"Admiral Solo, sir! We would like to get you to the Jedi Temple, sir! Where you can receive medical attention and a debriefing from the Security Chief, sir!"

A scowl quickly replaced the heated intensity within his eyes at the sight of the young security captain. Although he worked for the Alliance, Han had a notion to throw the blade between his eyes anyway. "I got a better idea," Han growled. "Why don't ya tell her royal featherness to take her security detail and shove it up her avian ass? I ain't going nowhere. And who the hell gave you permission to waltz in through my front door?! Unless you have a warrant signed by my wife, take your overstuffed pride and get the hell outta my house!"

Wincing at the pain beginning to return to his foot, Han turned and began limping toward the kitchen, vibroblade still in hand. "Last thing we need is to turn this place into a bird coup," Han quipped as he approached the doorway and stopped short at the sight he saw, mouth gaping. "What the--?!"

Strange droids had entered the home through a broken window in the kitchen - a window that wasn't broken until now. An Alliance seal was visible under the chin of one of the pieces of scrap metal as it flew by his head. Security droids. "Oh, no!" he yelled, throwing the vibroblade into the back of the droid's brain, shorting it out. The small mechanical creature moaned pitifully before crashing to the floor.

"Get these things outta here now!" he hissed at the captain, his index finger outstretched and pointing directly at the young man's chest. "Unless you want that blade in-between your eyes next. Now, move! And I'm making that a direct order!"

As the security personnel began to react to his ultimatium, Han turned and flashed Lochley a lopsided grin. "See? Nothin' to it," he smirked before a wave of pain crossed his face. With a stiffled moan, he lowered back down to the floor as the throbbing pain returned to his foot in full force. "I-I think I'm done for now."

Lochley stood as Han barked out his orders and shoved the intuders out of his house, "Not bad" she said. "Not bad at all, and to your original question of how I knew that...well I'm not entirely sure." She leaned up against the wall again and crossed her arms. "My commanding officer told me a few weeks ago that I was a force sensitive, and before I came here I was heading to the Jedi Temple to find out more about this curse of mine."

She walked over to the disabled droid and pulled out the blade, "Of course, if I did go they'd probably try to get me to join their little Order." Handing him his knife back she laughed, "If they knew half the things that I'd done in the past to stay alive they'd probably throw me out an airlock."

The Security Captain was about to protest, when the Sector Chief arrived. Looking around at the destroyed residence, a cruel grin spread across his face. If Han was so reluctant, so would security in notifying him that his child was actually alive and rescued.

The Sector Chief relieved the captain and apologized to the Admiral for their 'intrusion'. "Admiral Solo, I apologize for the confusion, however, Major Lochley here called for assistance. We were prudent to arrive as quickly as possible, especially with one with dire expressions. We are, however, going to respect your wish and depart immediately. If you feel the Security Chief is in somekind of avian coup, perhaps you should re-evaluate your judgement. What she wished to discuss is majorly important, at least to most fathers, it is." His cold eyes now switching to Elizabeth, "Toss you out an airlock, eh? We'll be sure to double check your record and speak with your superior about false alarms, especially one dealing with the Chief of State."

With a final glance at Han, the Sector Chief smirked, "You're an officer of the navy now, Admiral Solo, your direct orders no longer reflect upon me or my officers. I would suggest immediate medical attention."

The Sector Chief spun coolly ignoring any retort the man would issue unless he would beg for Speeder Six Hundred sixty five and remarked, "Good night Mr. Solo and if you ever need a real doctor, give us a call and we'll make sure you get there safely." With his drinking record, it would be wise.

Han glanced up at the woman with a mischievous gleam in his eye. So, his first inclination was right - she was a Force sensitive. Maybe hanging around them and their powers all this time was starting to rub off on him. "Oh, great," he responded sarcastically with a smirk. "What did I do to deserve to have another Force user hanging around here?" He paused to take the vibroblade from her outstretched hand and place it back within the sheath on his ankle.

Wiping the smile off his face, Han sighed before becoming serious. "But ya know, you're right about the corruption. I've seen it myself. Even got to Luke. I don't even know the kid anymore. And if ya know what's good for ya, don't go to them. You're a hell of a lot safer here with the rest of us."

More bootfalls echoed from the living area as another security officer made his presence known. He was more guat around the jaw than the young captain and seemed to have a permanent frown line as he presented his forced speech to Han and Lochley. All Han could do was simply roll his eyes. They were all the same and obviously it would take a lot more force to chase them outta the home.

"Hey, chief," he sneered when the man was finished and turned to walk back the way he had come. "Take back this Thanagarian greeting to your boss." With a twisted smile, Han raised his middle finger and shot it in the direction of the departing security personnel. "Have a good night."

She felt herself relaxing more around the Admiral, "There are some things I have to know and only the Jedi would know the answers I seek...them or the Sith. However having read a bit on both groups it sounds like the Jedi are the lesser of two evils." She looked up to him, "I will keep your advice in mind however, I have met a Jedi once, years ago, and from that I can say that I feel a lot safer with normal people."

"Hey, chief," he sneered when the man was finished and turned to walk back the way he had come. "Take back this Thanagarian greeting to your boss." With a twisted smile, Han raised his middle finger and shot it in the direction of the departing security personnel. "Have a good night."

Liz almost fell back sniggering at the chief, "Hey, don't forget your busted toy over there." She pointed over to the droid that lay on the floor, "Go ahead, clean up your mess." A couple of the security detail began to retrieve the disabled droid. They left soon after.

Liz shook her head, "I can't believe I've been just like that guy for the past few weeks, so uptight and so very serious. It's not like me."

A light chuckle escaped his lips as he tilted his head down to study the floor. "You learn pretty quick that walking around with a stick rammed up your ass ain't gonna get ya very far," he pointed out as his index finger began to trace the wood grain patterns on the floor. "I mean, look at me," he lamented with a quirky grin. "Just played it smooth throughout the entire war and eventually found myself as the Commander in Chief. Who would've thought I'd get that far, huh?"

A low-flying speeder zoomed by outside the open window, grabbing Han's attention. He slowly raised his head to watch the curtains flutter helplessly in the wind as off in the distance, the sky lit up briefly as lightning danced among the clouds. The approaching storm somehow echoed his inner thoughts as his mind was swiftly brought back to the events of that night. His children were now out there somewhere. Alone. Scared. Hurt...or worse. Contacting Leia had proved to be difficult and now, he was just sitting here injured and helpless after having chased away the security personnel who seemed willing to help. Han curled his fist and brought it down on the hardwood floor as thunder rumbled quietly in the distance. He knew what he had to do.

"We need to get outta here," he whispered softly to Lochley. He began to rise shakily to his feet. "Maybe---Maybe there can still be a chance."

She nodded her head at his comments about her attitude, "Yeah, I used to be very casual with people, open and so on...but I suppose joining the military has that certain dehumanizing effect."

You used to drink too, among other things Ryoko she told herself. She heard a noise and snapped out of her inner dwelling, Han was trying to get up. She went over to him and helped him up slinging his arm around her, "With two fractures in your foot you aren't going to get far." She sat him down again in a chair this time and set the pillow under his foot. "Yes there's a chance to help your kids but you won't do them any good the way you are now. If we started searching we wouldn't know where to even begin."

Realizing he hadn't said anything about his children she hit the wall, "Dammit, this is one of the reasons I wanted to see a Jedi. I want to know how to control my abilities so I can shut out these outside thoughts."

Although she was only trying to help, Han couldn't stand the notion of being babied and forced out of the action. Perhaps running around on a broken foot wasn't the brightest thing in the galaxy, but at this point, he would do anything to save those kids. Hell, he'd even lose the foot if it came to that point. "You underestimate me," he growled out in protest as she pushed him back down into a chair. "I can handle myself!"

What she had to say next, stopped his groaning and left him with his mouth slightly unhinged. He saw a lot of weird stuff in his travels across the galaxy, but nothing like this. She was ripping thoughts directly out of his mind. First it was Coronet and now his concern for his kids. Of course, it might just all be a coincidence, but the tantrurm she threw directly after the words left her mouth indicated otherwise.

"Uh," he stuttered, trying to carefully choose his words so that she didn't rip something else from him. "I can't help ya there. But do me a favor anyway and try your best to stay the hell outta my mind, ok?"

She sighed and sat down, tired. I'll do my best to block your thoughts. I don't know how exactly I'll do it, but I'll try."

"I'm sure you could handle yourself too, but with that busted foot a Force user would make pretty short work of you. Especially if they were good enough to sneak in here without tripping any of the alarms."

Leia walked briskly from her hovertaxi onto the greens of her home. She ran, her thoughts only on her children and in the danger they could be. The instant she saw the house, she knew Pallanén's report was not exaggerated.

She crossed the threshold of the doorway, which was missing a door. Leia found that the living area appeared to be, for the most part, unscathed, but she could see debris had fallen from the upper level.

She immediately raced up the stairs and to the children's rooms. Her heart pounded in her chest as she saw they were not in their beds, and that there was no sign of them anywhere on the level. She ran into her own bedroom and brought a hand to cover her gaping mouth as she surveyed.

Leia's legs propelled her forward, her knees failing to maintain her upright stance, and she fell to the ground and put her hands on her husband's battered, bloody face.

"Han! What," she looked around, now seeing another woman and the full extent of the damage to the broken room. She ignored it, and looked back at all that mattered right now. "What happened? Are you ok?" She asked desperately.

Trying your best to stay outta my head, huh? Han leered at the woman at his side with a mischievous glint in his eye. Somehow, I don't trust ya. I guess it's that gut instinct overpowering reason. But I'll give ya the benefit of the doubt, and if ya don't get this, I'll trust ya - the alarm system was my fault. I didn't set it 'cause I'm just that good.

A crooked smile pushed up one side of his face in satisfaction. And to an average observer who couldn't get inside his head and read his thoughts on a daily basis, it would've appeared as if he'd lost it. No matter. It wouldn't make headlines anyway - half of the galaxy already thought him insane. What was one more woman added to the list?

Han's good natured mood was immediately cut short as a flash of movement caught his attention from the opposite side of the room. A darkened figure could be seen inching their way to their position. Han's eyes narrowed into a scowl. Kriffin' security nestlings not learning their lesson... Pushing himself up into a more battle ready position, Han's confidence suddenly fell flat on its face when he realized his DL-44 was missing. A steady string of Corellian curses escaped his lips as the figure made herself known.

"Han! What," Leia cried desperately before running to his side and cupping his face within her hands. "What happened? Are you ok?"

Han nodded the best he could with the restraint of her hands upon his face. "Yea, I'm fine," he drawled as he relaxed back into the chair, his danger sense fading away at her presence. At least something in this galaxy was still safe and within his grasp. "But the kids--" his voice choked off as his emotions suddenly all came forward in one big rush. He closed his eyes for a moment to recollect himself and push back the rare tears that were threatening to spill over. Han Solo didn't cry. "---they're gone." he finished in a whisper that was barely audible above the howling of the wind from the broken window.

Leia's comfort at her husband's presence quickly sank into oblivion as her worst fears were realized. Her hands fell to her sides and she stood up, struggling against the unusual wind ripping through the obliterated room.

valiantly, she stepped forward to the source of the air and looked out the window to the dark of the night. If Jendob was behind this...

"Gone," she echoed quietly, the wind carrying her gentle question with amplitude. "Gone where?"
