I've been keeping up with the series and I saw the film... you know what? It's actually not bad. Hell, it even beats out the two Clone Wars-era films. And yeah, I know I'll take lots of flak for standing up for the PT TV series. Well, I like it. Too bad. :p

And I like how it focuses more on the clones than the cartoon. ^_^ The Republic feels like a military instead of just a bunch of magically-empowered generals with faceless minions.

The only thing I don't like is how it tries to be appealing to the more avid Star Wars fans and eight-year olds who only watch it for the toy commercials at the same time.

hmm, it was much better than i expected it would be. less cartoon-ish than i would have expected, and while it is so different with all the little humor and corny stuff added in, they dont detract much (lame humor actually makes it better)

Right, because it's the same lame humor we find in the GOOD SW movies. :p

Although, I admit... I'm a bit surprised by some of the more mature content that sneaks in like cursing and a couple clones being decapitated. Kind of reminds me of another show... also good but long since gone... :(

That's what I'm saying. Some clones say what the hell'? and some say 'what the heck'? in the same episode for no reason, and yet they get shot up, decapitated, and generally pissed on by battle droids.

Not to mention the sheer tactical IDIOCY I see in some of the commanders. For example, in the movie, during the Battle of That-Crystal-Planet, Kenobi has all of his clones in perfect cover while Anakin takes his jump troopers into the perfect flanking position to take out the spider walkers. What does Obi-Wan do? CHARGE. He CHARGES a COLUMN of droids HEAD-ON. Yes, your shiny blue stick may help you, but what about your toopers, ho-hum?

And then you see stuff like clones trying to punch battle droids, and then getting shot while they grab their hands in pain.

Well, at least they're not the Mandolicious Gods of War that Traviss makes every last Kaminoan clone out to be. I rather like that they're actually fallible without being insanely incompetent (usually, the crazy shit only happens in the most dire of conditions).

heh, lame droid humor is the best!

The tv series gave the droids an unprecedented - and unexpected - amount of personality. Well, clones get more personality too (and I guess it's only to be expected both groups would get more personality in this TV series), but... while you expect clones to potentially have some personality... droids? heh.

This is what you get when you make an incredibly stupid mistake and let the Jedi lead your armies. Mace Windu said it best; "We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers."

Hence why I laughed in Ep 3 at the Jedi Purge. Less idiots in the galaxy. Leave the job of leading the military to actual soldiers, not a bunch of gutless, spineless dogs with glow-sticks.

I don't know what books you read, but the only ones by her that deal with Clones that I've read were the Republic Commando series. And I will say, that the intelligence, tactics, and performance levels demonstrated not only by commando units in those novels, but by the regular grunts even, impressed the hell out of me.

I mean, for frak's sake, the storytellers even mentioned that when the Clone army was created, it was to be the best fighting force in the galaxy. They've been trained with live fire to fight and kill without remorse or regret in the defense of the Republic since their very births...

Naturally, one should expect the best in the results.

The above example by Kol of the Jedi's moronic charge to oblivion is not of a great fighting force at all.

Actually, it's from reading Wookieepedia. I thought they had her saying all Kamino clones were immersed in the Mandalorian stuff.

I noticed that too! I think it was a B-1, the way they make those it should have shattered! Even if you're out of ammo, never punch an enemy, whack em with your gun!

The droids did that too. A B-2 once picked up a clone, made a point of holding him there, and then shot him.

In the heritage and history aspects, only some of the regular troops picked it up during the war...others thought that it was distracting and potentially disloyal to put so much importance in something other than the Republic.

But really only the Commando units and ARCs went in depth with their history and culture. The Null ARCs specifically were really into Mando stuff...mainly since they were under the command of a single person who raised the Nulls as though they were his own boys; Kal Skirata Sr. :P

Traviss deserves to be set fire to, we've been over this 100 times...I meen, she calls anyone who disagrees with her in the fanbase 'Talifans'...what MORON likens her oponents over her interpretation of fluff to opressive religious movements?

This movie is hillarious. I love how the sole battle commands given by the Jedi are "follow me" or "charge!". And those basically mean the same thing.

Sorry about the bump... but last night's episode had George Takei. Squeeeeeeeeee! :p

And he did really well in the role, too. I certainly hope they bring back his character. The only thing that bugged me was how Bastil--uhh, I mean Aayla had a Russian accent. It was a bit odd.
