An insignia of an ancient vibrosword plunged into an unidentified planet-like orb appears upon the screen. The holocam zooms out and the symbol is revealed to be attached to a podium made of a mahogany-coloured wood. A deep voiceover speaking in an alien tongue begins speaking. The voiceover switches languages several times before it settles on a heavily accented basic.

Presenting, the honourable Leyao Quon. Chairman of the People’s Administration Council of Rattatak.

A balding man, standing a little over five feet in height makes his way towards the podium from somewhere off-stage. As he does the holocam shifts it’s view to display the cheering and celebrating crowd. They are all dressed in their best cold-weather clothing, though fine silks and such have no place here, they all wear woollen cloaks and large overcoats. Leyao himself is wearing a similar attire, complete with woollen cap with thick ear-flaps.

When he speaks subtitles display below the podium...

Comrades! Workers! Revolutionaries! The battle to save our homeworld is over! And we have won!” He victoriously raises both of his arms into the air in a show of strength. The crowd cheers again as he continues, “our next task is to expand. We have conquered the trials of time, war and famine, and now we go on to face the galaxy’s game of politics!

Leyao cleared his throat and looked out at the crowd, “there are many friends to be made, and enemies to be crushed in this new world we are about to explore. Most of you,” he says this directly into the camera, to indicate the foreign audience, “will not understand us nor our ways. We will do what we can to assist you, but you must also be willing to learn. Those that do not learn will believe us to be savage, primitive, even backward. We open our world, for the first time, to outsiders to visit. Outsiders that are willing to listen and learn of our ways and customs. We also seek diplomats from any party that wishes to send them in an informal ‘getting to know you’ session, to catch us up on the happenings of the galaxy since last we met.” He smiles slightly and nods slowly, “and now, I open the floor to questions from both domestic and foreign sources."

The Republic of Nespis welcomes a new nation to the Galaxy and is pleased to see the spirit of Progressiveness and Socialism is alive and well on Rattatak.

The people of Rattatak thank the Republic of Nespis for their kind words of support.
