I doubt it, its probably a Lucasfilm thing...

I'm sure it was quite intentional. I'll let you know when I read the novel. What part was it at again? Was it at the end there before things start falling apart?

Oh. In that case, no, it wasn't in the novel. He says "Oh, that can't be good" or something like that.

Actually, I think it was when the aliens came to life.

Yea, it was when they get into the final chamber with the alien skeletons. And to answer your question, yes, it is in the novel.

I haven't actually seen it, or read the book; that line just sounded like an easter egg to me :P

Just saw it last night with a couple of pals, I liked it.

Things I liked:

Ford's acting was pitch perfect.

Shia LaBoef was actually a likeable character.

Cate Blanchett in a military uniform, with a Ukrainian accent and wielding a sword. Yum.

Many, many car chases.

Indy being a dad! I'm an idiot, because I didn't see that coming.

Cate Blanchett again.

All the references to previous movies.

Cate Blanchett.

And much more I've forgotten/can't be bothered to write down.

What I didn't like:

What was the actual plot? I didn't understand the end too much, is it meant to be one of those "we'll never know" endings?

They killed Cate :(

Crappy CGI alien, wtf? GET YOUR STINK OFF MY INDIANA JONES, LUCAS.

The fat British guy who is only in it for the money and acts like a fool all the time.

THEN AGAIN, I am all in favour of stereotyping in Indy films, and since Americans are mostly stereotyped as paranoid idiots and Russians are stereotyped as clumsy oafs/sexy sword vixens, I can handle some Brit stereotyping gracefully :P And it was funny the way Indy kept punching the guy.

All in all, an 9/10 from me, compared to 9 for Raiders and 10 for Last Crusade (I know, blasphemy. I liked Alison Doody, and I felt LC was pacier :P ) That's a rating of how much I enjoyed it, not how good it was, too. I get a feeling that compared to the great masterpieces, this wasn't so good. But it was great fun.

Yay! *huggles*

Alison Doody is my favourite Indy girl. And the whole tank fight was awesome. What a film.

Yeah. Sean Connery's addition was also great. I preferred the comedic tone... it hit an awesome balance; it was serious and yet could also make you laugh a lot. LC is definitely my favorite.

Well, uh, maybe that's not far off. Ask Cray. Well, all except the idiot part.

Cray, if you want comedic tone, nothing beats Mola Ram rolling into the floor and laughing hysterically. I don't know what it is, but I watched it last night and I couldn't stop laughing at it.

In terms of rankings for me, I have trouble with Raiders or Crusade being number one. Those two always fluctuate. I guess it all depends on my mood. Crystal Skull has really climbed up there(possibly being number two) and Temple of Doom is last.

I think you mean "clinch", unless you have Harrison Ford's finely toned a- um, something else on your mind.

That's a little rude there Alex, skating on very thin ice. We have to work 20 hours a week to get that payment, it's a little redundant, but we do.

But yea, this isn't the thread for this. Back on topic!
