The speeder ride was a silent one, a few times Ryoko thought of starting a conversation with Kal but every time she looked at him he was gazing out a window, and the look on his face seemed so distant so she had remained quiet. She was somewhat startled when the driver called back, "We're here."

The sign read Embassy Suites, and just by the look of the people hanging around she knew she could never have afforded this on her salary. She looked at Kal again and noticed that his attention seemed to be on his surroundings, as if he were watching for someone to pull a gun on him. He wasn't wearing his uniform jacket so it wasn't blatantly obvious what faction he was a part of, but he was on the Rebel capital planet so Ryoko could understand his awareness.

The party entered the main lobby of the extravagant hotel. Again, Ryoko knew that her salary in the Alliance would never have covered a suite here, the place was so massive and brilliantly decorated. After a few minutes getting sorted with the front desk employees the security officers escorted Kal and Ryoko to their room, the penthouse suite.

I think I'll just split this whole thing up into many smaller posts rather than one big one, makes it easier to do.

The hotel room was large, as was the balcony that it had. He looked around it a few times, and examined the rooms as well, examining for listening devices or traps. Ryoko was sitting in the living room watching him go about, utterly silent. "What?" he asked finally.

She cocked an eyebrow, "Nothing...I'm just wondering why you've been so casual about this whole thing that's all." Kal turned to her, a surprised expression on his face.

"I'm casual? You come out of nowhere, pull a wig off and say here I am? Almost ten years, ten years I had to live with the guilt. Ten years I carried a burning hatred for the Alliance because of what happened." he sighed and looked out the window near him, "I'm sorry, it was just that I thought you were dead. And now here you are, I just don't know what to think of this."

She stood up and walked over to him, "I wish I could have come back sooner, I really do. But the wound I suffered that day, I don't know how I survived it but I did, and I was left with a fractured personality and memory." She slipped her arms around him as she held him from behind, resting her head on his shoulder, "But I'm here now, and I want to make it up to you for making you wait."

Kal looked over to her about to say something when she pressed her lips to his and kissed him, he was about to pull away but she held him there. His thoughts were conflicting at that moment, part of him wanted to retain the coldness that he'd grown so fond of over the years...yet another part of him had secretly wanted this so badly, a second chance to make things right and be with the one person he would ever share his life with. The more human part won out in the end, and he gave in and returned her kiss. They stood there for a few minutes in their embrace, no words spoken, finally reunited.

Ryoko was the one to break the kiss, she looked into Kal's eyes and smiled, "It was worth the wait."
Kal smiled back, "Don't ever do that to me again, okay?" Ryoko nodded.

Again, sorry if it turns out looking like a cluttered mess...:(

"Let's go out to eat." Ryoko asked suddenly.

Kal raised an eyebrow, "You still finish my sentences..." His lover gained a mischievous grin and bowed. "Though you do have a point, I'll check the local directory and find us a nice restaurant."

"We could probably get the security detail to give us a lift...and we should get something nice to wear too..." Ryoko said.
Kal harrumphed, "We have our dress uniforms..." Before Ryoko could retort, "And if people make snide remarks to either of us then they can say hello to my boot." He meant it too, he'd always been quick to beat someone over the head when someone made a remark about his lover.

She shrugged, "You're right...they do look pretty good. And they do stand out." She started to put on the jacket to the Alliance dress uniform.

***
A few hours or so later, in the restaurant with some snazzy sax music in the background...

"No shit, you were a singer for a few years?"

Ryoko nodded, "Yeah, had a gig for a short time...didn't completely work out. One of the patrons got a little too friendly and things kinda went downhill..."

"I see" Kal said, "What then?"

Ryoko shrugged, "Ehh, just wandered here and there. Ended up on Coruscant at some point and ran into you...though neither of us could recognize each other behind our masks." She stirred her drink, "Well enough about me, what have you been up to these past few years my wonderful Mandalorian?" she asked with a sly grin.
Kal visibly cringed, Ryoko figured he would, she felt that he was still uneasy, most likely being suspicious of her as some sort of impostor. So she was going to make him understand that she was the real thing. Using her pet nickname for him was just the beginning.

"Well after the incident I threw myself into my work, and into a little something I cooked up in the Navy. Can't tell you about it of course, not an appropriate topic on this planet...though really not much has happened that was eventful enough to talk about, lots of paperwork, bullshit, same old crap." Kal stated while he took a sip of his drink.

Ryoko laughed, "Heh, paperwork, the bane of all interest in a job."
She pulled out a little cloth bag she had in her pocket, opened it, and removed the ring that it contained. Kal's eyes widened slightly. "I've kept it all these years as a reminder to me, that there were things still left fighting for."
She could feel him starting to relax as the realization that she was not an impostor set in, "I still remember the day at the beach, the fun we had, just the two of us lying there, watching the sunset."

Kal breathed a sigh of relief, Ryoko knew that he had finally gotten the realization. Took you bloody long enough... she thought.

They both sat and looked at each other for a few seconds after that, but Ryoko chose to break the silence, "Feel like heading back to the room?" Kal nodded in agreement as he escorted her out. People had been staring at them and giving them odd looks since they had entered, and upon leaving Kal bowed towards them with a smile. The easiest way to piss off an enemy, is to show kindness...he thought.

***
Later on back at the hotel...

After they had returned to their room they spent a few hours just talking, no specific topics, simply enjoying the time they were spending together...and a bottle of whiskey in the process, after all, they were both on medical leave...

"I can understand the suspicions of me being an impostor, it's not crazy at all. Normally nobody could survive a shot like that to the back...yet here I am. Crazy I know, but I'm not complaining." she sighed.

Kal stepped in, "I'm glad that you are really alive and right here." Ryoko looked at him with hope in her eyes. "When I lost you I had lost the one thing that had ever shown light into my life, up until I had met you I knew nothing but the military, I had lived my life by the blade and the rifle. When I lost you...I lost what I had to live for."

She put a hand up to his face, "Hey...does it look like you lost me?"[/color] He was about to respond when she put a finger to his lips and silenced him, "No need for discussions." she said as she pressed her lips to his and kissed him, this time Kal did not hold back, nor did he hesitate. They held each other tight in their embrace until Ryoko pulled away, "I did say that I wanted to make it up to you didn't I?"

She grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him down with her into bed, and she reached over with one hand to shut out the lights.

Kal groaned as he began to wake, the morning sun shown through the nearby window. It looked like a nice day, fresh and new. He was about to get up but he felt something warm laying next to him. He looked over and there was Ryoko, snuggling next to him with her naked body covered only by the sheets on the bed.

The realization of what had happened the night before hit Kal like an Executor class ship at light speed...

Ryoko stirred, "Morning lover." She smiled with a mischievous grin, knowing full well that Kal was just realizing what they both did. "Good morning...did we..." She stopped him mid sentence, "Yep." Kal laid his head back on the pillow, "Hmm." They sat there for several minutes, quietly lying there, listening to the sounds from outside. It was a scene he dreamt off years ago, just him and his lover, not a care in the world. He had hoped that they could just stay there and relax, but unfortunately there were things that needed to be done. And as this was an Alliance planet, it was not in his best interests to stay too long.

Kal chose to speak after a while, "You know, we should probably do something about your superiors today." Ryoko groaned as she pulled herself closer to Kal, "But that means we have to get out of bed."
Kal smiled, "Yes, but the faster we get this over with, the faster you get to meet some old friends." His lover raised an eyebrow in surprise, "They're still around?" Kal nodded, "I'm sure the members of Zerek would be overjoyed to see you again...and you still owe MkCay a fencing match." he playfully added. Ryoko let out a laugh, "I guess I do don't I? No matter, I'll beat her like I did the last time." she replied in a similar playful manner.

A grunt came from Kal as he sat up and flexed, "I'm going to get a shower." At that moment Ryoko shot up and out of bed, "Mind if I join you?" Skirata paused for a moment, considered it, and did not deny her request.

Wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around her Ryoko sat there at the data terminal recording a message for her superiors. This message was one she previously hadn't thought she'd be sending, but now she felt she had to send it, she didn't believe that the Alliance would really allow her to stay close to Kal, or the Empire allow him to be with her if they were on opposite sides.

She was submitting a letter for resignation from her Alliance military position.

As the message was sent she leaned back in the chair she was sitting in with her hands behind her head, thinking to herself. What will I do now? she thought to herself, What's going to happen? Ryoko lost her train of thought when Kal surprised her with a kiss on the neck, surprised enough that it caused her to jump. "Sorry about that" he said with a smile, "but I couldn't resist."

She returned the smile, "I'll bet...you'll pay for that too."

"Oh? We'll see about that." he jokingly replied. "So everything is in order?" Ryoko nodded. "When do you want to leave?" he asked.

She shrugged at the question, "Meh, whenever's fine with me. I'm in no rush to go anywhere...but I doubt you want to stay around here much longer, you know with that uniform and all. We should go then, I'm looking forward to meeting those soldiers of yours again."

Skirata agreed, "You might need to get dressed first...that is, unless you want to parade around in that..." he pointed to the towel that alone covered her.

She laughed heartily, "Nah...this'll be fine." Skirata remained silent, not sure whether to be concerned or laugh with her. She raised an eyebrow, "You thought I was serious? Tsk tsk Kal...I know you wouldn't mind me wearing just this if we were alone, but there's no way in hell I would ever go waltzing around the public like this."

"Heh, no I wouldn't mind you wearing just that...or less..." he said before he kissed her on the lips.

Ryoko put her arms around him, as she spoke, "You know, this is almost like a dream. We're back together, your soldiers are still alive and kicking, and all...it's almost too good to be true."

Kal sat down beside her, "Well at least I know it's not a dream, I never figured you for one to bite."

Ryoko grinned mischievously, "Always had a bit of a sadist in me..."

Kal raised an eyebrow, "I see, well I should probably get ready myself. I personally don't want to walk out there with just a robe either." he said with a slight chuckle as he disappeared into the bedroom.

Ryoko sighed as she got up and examined some regular clothes that she purchased after their visit to that restaurant earlier, one being a long black silk dress that itself would leave little to the imagination should she wear it, that one she would save for a very special occasion.
However the other outfit was a more ordinary looking outfit, black pants with a black top and a red leather jacket. It reminded her of something a member of a speeder gang would wear, but she did like the rugged look it gave off.

A minute or so later Kal returned in full dress uniform and he wore a look of astonishment upon seeing his lover in her new outfit, she looked at him and spun, "Like it?"

"Yes, I think it looks great on you." he said.

Ryoko was pleased with the outfit herself, it looked tight, but it was very comfortable and allowed for alot of freedom in movement. And there was the fact that she loved the way it looked. She leaned over and grabbed a few of the bags near her, "Alright, let's go Kal."

The Embassy Suites were designed for high class operatives, Senators, or any other VIP guests of the Rebellion. It only seemed natural and a direct slap in the face to the Chief of Security for Sark to stay here for the duration of his mission. His eyes scanned the crowd, before they landed on the desk clerks. One was male, his demeanor resembled the mark before the internal destruction, the human's eyes drooping as though suffering from late night drinks and probable death stick addiction. He hid it well, he had to, if he wanted to work here, but Sark had a strange ability to detect the weaker humans. The other two clerks were females, most likely lacking any kind of relationship and their own interest couldn't have been more clear.

Alexander trotted nearby, Sark knew the boy would obey his most latest orders, and had no reason to keep a close eye.

"I'd like a Senator's Guest Suite, please." Sark conveyed, his eyes carefully watching the female, and it only took a few moments to collect her physical attention.

The woman's fingers glided over the computer screen, her eyes glancing up nervously as she answered each question. "There you are, Mr. Risso." the secretary gave the man his room clearance, and a list of all the services. Ironically, Sark was a guest of the Geonosian Senator, Kriekas. When the bird finally had enough sense to check the Embassy Suites, he had every intention of making her cringe with each additional piece of information.

Moving against the current of the hotel traffic, Sark and the teenager moved into the lift and upwards they went.

With Alexander gone, Sark had exactly twenty minutes to spare. He had checked his equipment multiple times, and the schedule, the layout and the additional security that the bird had placed around her nest. Now, the odds were stacked...in his favor.

He just had to be quick.

* * *

A speeder limo pulled up to the Embassy Suites. The man opened the door, allowing Sark to take the back seat, before returning to the driver's seat. With a slow and rather emotionless request for the destination, Sark replied. "The PallanÚn Estate."
