Breaking News: Anti-Crisis System Incoming!

Neimoidia, despite her greatness, has always been known as a world filled with disease. Hundreds of diseases, including some forms of Brainworm Rot, have come from our glorious system, but the new Trade Monarch, Mell Weatry, has stated in a recent press release, that he intends to implement a crisis system, in which the entire planet, whose surface consists of farmland and rain forest, is to be divided up into states. Multiple states then are going to make up provinces. These provinces create nations, and nations create 'continents'. Weatry said that the 'continent' will have a specific name and will be made of of a set amount of one type of terrain (ie. farmland or forest). He said said that this would require some farmers to relocated, and begin harvesting their crops at different locations on the planet, yet he made a point to assure the people that he had their best intentions in mind and while in the short run the economy would be hurt, in the long run, it would prosper. He stated that this prosperity can be expected likely sometime around three months after the project is put into effect and life has been normalized.

Now, these provinces don't seem to have any purpose, seeing as they are nothing but temporary annoyances to the people. But he has come out and said that within each province, there will be a new, unique, system, unlike anything Neimoidia has done before. This system will include a small medical facility in each state. These facilities will be equipped with the ability to handle any disease, and will have room for about 100 patients. The medical centers, which are being called 'Tak Yuin' by the government (translated into Basic as 'Our Saviors'), are nothing more than extraordinary. They are expected to cost 10,000,000 dataries a piece. They will all have emergency vehicles to retrieve any sick or wounded person. To head this though, there has to be a command center, and Weatry has again not let us down. He came out and told the people that in each province a larger command center would be set up, and the country capital would have about three complexes for health. Each continent will also have two buildings - the Center of Research and Disease Control, along with the Center of the Continent's Facilities.

To make sure that all living creatures are healthy, the program is slated to buy a couple thousand medical droids, who will be placed in the farming and all working environments to test the areas for disease, and to test the workers before and after they enter, for any strain of any disease, which will then be reported back to the Tak Yuin. From there, the information is looked into throughly. If it is necessary, it will be sent to the Province Medical Center and etc. This system, the government claims, will prove 'flawless' at detecting any and all disease. This entire project of the new reign is expect to cost somewhere around 24,500,000,000 dataries, or, in smaller numbers, 24,500 credits. Quite a hefty sum, but it is expected to be worth it. This new program will also increase in the efficiency of farms, says the government.

It seems that Weatry has a bright, new, disease free Neimoidia slated for the future.

Mell Weatry Named Monarch in Large Ceremony

Though we already know him as Trade Monarch, and he has already begun to apply his policies to the planet, in a grand ceremony last night, Mell Weatry was dubbed the Trade Monarch of Neimoidia. The ceremony took place at 1900 hours last night, and lasted until 0100 hours on today (Month 8 Day 6 5 ABY). The ceremony initially took place in a grand hall, the great Cathedral of Koto-Si. The best in Bith music was provided, and the mood was set. Hanging from the walls were pictures of great, past trade Monarchs, and sitting in a large chair, which was dwarfed yet by a larger one, which his highness was to sit in, was the head of the nobles, along with the Clan Triyn, Kell Triyn. He bore the crow on the monarch on his lap, as the small rows began to fill with nobles. The halls were filled with racket as robes rustled in their seats, plantation owners spoke of possible proposals, wives spoke of their daily routines, and as the men performing the ceremony were making sure that everything was ready and set for his highness.

And thus the grand ceremony begun. The lights were dimmed, and the Neimoidians shut their mouths. Triyn sat upright, and in one hand he held the Scepter of Trade, and in the other, the Crown of Royalty. Each represents the power held by the Trade Monarchy. The Scepter of Trade is a symbol that he controls everything economic about Neimoidia, while the Crown of Royalty, dotted with gems from across the Galaxy, represented his absolute Monarch powers. The doors in the back of building, studded with gold and silver, swung open, to reveal and Neimoidian wearing only the finest of clothes. His robes were studded with rubies, emeralds, and gold. His hat was broad, with a rim of silver, and a large pearl in the middle, standing with a diamond to either side. Light flanked Weatry as he strode down the hall, with his son to one side, and his Financial Adviser to the other.

As he walked, the Bith began to play spectacular and grand music, that filled the silent hall with a feeling that could not be replicated on any planet in the Galaxy. The Neimoidians' attention was focused on Weatry alone, whose footsteps were still able to be heard above the sound of the fantastic instruments in the background. The man in the chair stood. Weatry arrived at the altar and got down on one knee, with his head bowed down. With staff in hand, and crown in the other, Triyn looked down and began to say the sacred rights, developed by the King Tiik Malor IV before the Battle of Ruusan occurred, and when the Monarchy was founded,

"Doth thou swear thy life to the Neimoidian people and unto them alone?" asks the noble.

The king responds, "Aye, what is mine is theirs and what is theirs is mine."

"Good," says the bearer of the crown, "Doth thou swear to wear this crown with the greatest humbleness, and the greatest sense of authority unto which a man can be given?"

"Aye, such is the duty of the monarch of Neimoidia."

"Doth thou swear to bear this scepter to bring about the economic and monetary gains that this world doth made for?" asks the noble.

"Aye, for every Neimoidian has the right to wealth and wealth alone if he can procure it, " is the response.

"Then thou shalt be dubbed as the Trade Monarch of Neimoidia," and then crown was placed on his head, and the scepter handed to him. The newly dubbed Monarch then went to his throne and turned about, as if to be preparing to sit, yet the rights were not over yet. The fealty of the nobles, and the people had yet to be procured. He faced a crowd so large that people were standing outside the building, only hearing the ceremony through speakers and watching through large holovision screens set up in the plaza.

"Do you, the persons of Neimoidia, hereby swear thy lives and honor to the throne of Neimoidia?" he asks with authority in his voice. The music stopped as the people say cheerfully:

"Yes, what is mine is yours, and your highness is the supreme greatness of Neimoidia. Unto you do I swear my life, loyalty and rights."

Breaking News: Government Moves to Further Stimulate the Agricultural Industry

The new crisis system the government told us of back in Month 7 is nearing implementation, officials told Koto-Si news yesterday. But That isn't all. The government says that upon implementation, production of food will become much more efficient, and on the current plantations, production could go up over fifteen percent. Currently, each year Neimoidia produces 2.43 billion metric tons of food, and then sells this food to producers for 100 dataries a ton. For years though economists have been predicting that the Trade Monarch would realize the obnoxiously low price of fungus, and raise it, especially since that it would not cut off buyers. Even if the price was raised to 250 dataries per metric ton, it would still cost the average man a mere 22.35 dataries per year for his annual fungus supply. The current price per year per average man is 8.94 dataries, a steal, and people have known it since Neimoidia entered the agriculture business. The average man consumes about .0894 metric tons of fungus-type plants per year. Some economists says though that a single hospital uses over ten metric tons of the fungus per year in their drugs. The government says that currently about 5% of Neimoidia's surface is used for farming, with about 70% left over.

To increase the amount of the fungus exported to other planets, Mell Weatry has developed the Treaty of Koto-Si, which currently has arranged for more than ten million tons to food to be transfered to the Core, I. Gunrai, financial director of the government, stated in a press meeting that there would be a substantial increase in the amount exported to signatory worlds in the coming year, when the planets begin to shift away from the largest current agricultural corporation, Salliche. The government is encouraging managers of the farms, the nobles of Neimoidia, to increase the amount they product so that Neimoidia can export more and more food. The government stated that if each kilometer of farmland produces 125 metric tons per year of fungus, not a hefty sum by any means, the economy would expand over one hundred percent. Number released by the government even stated that if half the farmland produced the current 92.72 metric tons per year, and the other half produced 150 metric tons per year, the GDP of Neimoidia would shoot to 3,180,708,099.12, if the price was kept the same. Clearly, most nobles realized, that instead of being lax, and slow and unproductive, they would actually bring in a substancial amount of money should they produce more. Mell Weatry stated that he hopes the nobles take this to heart and begin to produce more product for the market.

The government has also released information that says it is planning to increase the Neimoidian birth rate so that there are only the best working on agricultural farms, and there can be more workers, and eventually more farming territory. The government therefore is encouraging those nobles that breed Neimoidians to make more so that there are more workers for the farms, and thus output is increased even more. So that there is more incentive other than money for the producers and breeders, the government has begun to give out medals for those farms that produce over or at 150 metric tons per year of fungus, and to those breeders who breeder over 1000 Neimoidian workers per month. With an estimated 10,000 breeding plants on planet (though they make minimal money are barely touch the GDP), the government seems to be aiming for about 120,000,000 new workers, as it said the medals will be handed out for the next twelve plus months - and that is anticipates that each breeder will breed the amount, as these medals are prestigious and will only be given for this select period of time.

As one can see, the benefits will be hopefully be great. The government estimates have been largely confirmed by economists, and many investors seem to be hoping that Neimoidia, who is a largely underdeveloped planet, soon becomes a large Galactic player, on par with her daughter planets, the Purse Worlds of Cato, Deko and Koru Neimoidia. One last government comment was, "The Age of Neimoidia has come. The era of Salliche is at her end." All for now, reporting from Koto-Si, Neimoidia, this is Koto-Si News. Tune in next time for some possible interviews with the Trade Monarch himself.
