Drake was surprised when he was told to go in before Solo. Either rank didn’t hold as much importance as first come first serve, or he and the security chief didn’t like each other very much. He didn’t wait around to find out, however, because if it was the latter, he probably wouldn’t be too happy about Drake getting in before him. And if Han wasn’t happy, there was always a possibility that Chewie would be unhappy as well. And Drake did not want to have to deal with an unhappy wookie if he didn’t have to. Not that he didn’t think he could take him though he guess that was more IMM talking, he just wasn’t certain enough about it to ever want to have to try.

Whether R3 was thinking the same thing or not was impossible to tell, as the droid followed him into the office. Taking a quick look around, he held his hand out to shake hello the hand of the person standing in front of the desk. Normally, he probably would have skipped it, but considering the creepy soldier, the escort starfighters, and all the other related stuff, he considered it would probably be a good idea, despite what IMM thought.

Both Wookiee and human stood dumbstruck as the other occupants of the room were allowed to meet with the Security Chief while they continued to wait. Apparently Han's mentality of rank not mattering filtered to other regions of the Alliance and the thought of that set him off. Why don't these guys practice what they preach? If they could yell at him for it, then what made them think they could get away with the same tricks and not get called out?!

Whirling back to face the blonde secretary behind the desk, Han's hazel eyes blazed with a renewed fury. "Maybe you didn't hear me the first time," he explained in a low tone. "But I think I asked you to speak with the Security Chief. How come they--"

"I'm sorry, sir," she replied in a surprisingly calm tone while cutting Han off. "But the Chief is quite busy at the moment. She has some very special visitors and all appointments for the day need to be postponed. Can I fit you in tomorrow?"

Han gaped at the woman and allowed himself to blink a few times before recomposing himself. This whole trip had been a waste. Not only had some human/droid comical act been allowed in to speak with the Chief, but now he wouldn't get the answers he was looking for. Fett would have to wait...or would he? Leia kept some classified documents back at their home which he could sift through - not to mention the Holonet was always a useful outlet. All the answers were staring him right back in the face.

Why didn't I think of this before coming here and wasting my time with these clowns? he chastised himself with a subtle tightening of his jaw.

"No," he answered bluntly to the secretary. "But could you pass on to your boss that her business practices are only slightly better than a Hutt's? I hear she loves the attention."

The blonde sat stunned and watched as the Corellian and Wookiee left the reception area and made their way to the exit. Their next stop: home.

As the pair began to make their way towards her office, Alatáriël watched the angry Han Solo. Last she understood, he was nothing but an admiral of the navy and his meeting could wait. The secretary had messaged that it failed to reach Galactic Security or at least the emphasis of his importance. The thanagarian Chief had also come to terms that the man was simply irrational and blew up certain factors to extraordinary heights. Nonetheless, the man was not one that usually came to someone for help and would typically wait in a lobby. Taking this to mind, she pressed a button and asked the secretary to send a pair of stealth escorts. If he was simply returning home, then perhaps there was nothing to worry about, but if he was digging into something... she would like to know what it was.

The doors whished open just as Arlyn finished the request. A smile flashed across her face as she extended a hand to greet the humanoid. "Greetings, its a pleasure to finally meet you in person." her voice was soft and low yet filled with gratitude.

”I guess I can say the same thing.” he replied, though truthfully, he could have honestly gone the rest of his life without actually meeting her in person and been just fine and dandy. But why give that kind of impression?
He didn’t know if she knew R3 at all, so he turned and indicated to the droid and introduced him.
”And this is R3-B, heavily modified astromic droid and my teammate on bounty hunting expeditions. R3, this is…”
The name escaped him for a moment. Fortunately, IMM hadn’t forgotten it. It didn’t make the name any easier to say, however.
”Alatáriël Pallanén, who I believe is the person responsible for the black creepy guy telling us to come here.”

R3 reacted little as he was introduced, which was unsurprising to Drake. Then again, he was used to the droid mannerisms. He had built the guy, after all.

When the couple stepped into the security office, Alatáriël received a notice from several assets. Nicole Wexler Skywalker was undergoing arrest and although she was refuting the charges, it would be best if she simply surrendered. More liberties of justice were present for the woman, if she simply went and saw the security chief. A smile curled on her face as she imagined the look on the woman when she learned that not only had she broken several laws during wartime, she also would hold no diplomatic immunity nor favorites because of ties to Luke Skywalker.

Through Eve, Arlyn gave the officers the ability to use lethal force. It was not necessary for the Security Chief to do this, but Nicole Wexler was somewhat of a priority. Not only had the woman trespassed on the Chief of State’s property as if she was a celebrity, but she had possible criminal actions involved with Ma’shi’s death. The recent apprehension of Gavin Young and his crew revealed that she played a crucial part, yet the truth serums were inefficient to incriminate her…yet.

Drake greeted her with a false sense of humor and welcome, the thanagarian noticed, but he was being polite and that was what mattered. They shook hands and Chief Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad decided to talk business versus the typical introductions. Both seemed to be on tight schedules and she concluded he would understand.

“I’ve called you here to offer you a position as a Director of Special Research.” She paused and restated, “A job.” Her eyes coiled with an unseen taste of victory. The mere fact the man and his little sidekick traveled to Denon for her, showed a sign of loyalty. And that would be decisive in his hiring and possibly his life. “A holo transmission or asking a Dark Knight of Geonosis to perform this was out of the question.” Her voice was tethered with seriousness, “This department is completely confidential and anything created is sole property of the Rebellion. Tampering, selling of these projects are not acceptable and could cost you… your life.” Her eyes blinked carefully, examining everything about him, “Please understand, I did not want to threaten you, but I wanted to extend an invitation with grave consequences if abused. I have researched you, personally, and I believe you are fit for this position.”

She extended both hands. The left hand held a holo-pad with all the information he needed. The right, was a second handshake that typically sealed the opening bargain. He would have time to look over the requirements and the tools and resources available to him before making a final decision, but the time was closing. The Internal Activities Board wanted to see more action and more development. He was either in or out, nowhere in the middle.

“Partner?” With that said another security report came in. There had been a murder several blocks down and an entire residence had been seized. The invading occupants failed to notice the stealth security guards and it was called in immediately. How it attracted the Chief of Security’s office was the cloaked darkness of the way it happened. Arlyn held out a finger before Drake or his sidekick could respond and called into the headset, “Eve, can you connect me with Grand Master Yoogle. Send him coordinates to the Vincccelia murder. I think we just found what he was looking for.” And with that, the astute thanagarian waited for a response.

That was a load to take in. It was certainly an interesting offer. It was compelling, though IMM didn’t seem to think so.

”I don’t like the sound of it. It sounds fishy. Especially if she’s been researching us.
”I doubt she even knows you exist. Just hold on while a moment.”

He took a quick look

”Reasurch, huh? Well, it makes me curious as to how you were able to find out. I’m not exactly the kind to leave a lot of records behind.”

He took a quick look to see if R3 would give any indication of what he though, and not surprisingly, he gave none.

”So, put shortly, you’re offering me a job running this top secret research group for you, and you think that I’d be well suited for the job. However, it’s top secret, hush-hush kind of stuff, and if I were to accept the job, I’d probably be executed or terminated if I happened to give any of that information away, committed sabotage, that sort of thing.”
”Oh, and the way you put it really makes it sound better. Honestly, it’s too restrictive, and I’m not too fond of the idea of being shut down for any reason.”
”Hey, I’m not going to take or reject the job right off the bat. Just hold your objections for a bit.”

”I can’t say I’ll reject or accept the offer right at this moment. However, give me a chance to skim over this datapad, think it over, let us talk it over a bit…”
he said as he pointed over his shoulder to R3 ”…and I’ll get back to you ASAP. I should be able to come up with a definite answer sometime before the end of the day.”

The thanagarian enjoyed that the man did not accept instantly. It showed intelligence and his determination to consider the weight of the situation. Moving to shake his hand a final time, her hand paused in midair as Eve alerted her of a message from Grand Master Yoogle. After years of serving as an intelligence officer for the Alliance and her own thanagarian training of deception, her face gave nothing of the emotional concern. Her hand faltered only for a moment before completing the shake and an aide stepped inside to show Drake and the sidekick droid out of the room.

Returning to her desk she opened the Galactic Communications Holonet, to where she replied to Carnor Jax. She opened her messages and read over the words from the Jedi Master.

The Security Headquarters of the Rebel Alliance was easily compared as if a Geonosian Hive’s queen was under attack. The Underground Syndicate had made a terrible move in hiring bounty hunters to attack and humiliate a Rebellion Senator. Three individuals had been arrested and questioned and soon, their portal to Underground communications would be violated. As the thangarian security chief sat, legs crossed, she read over the message Grand Master Yoogle had sent her.

The small green lifeform had requested her immediate presence at the Jedi Temple. It appears there was a disturbance in the Force and something disastrous was being plot on their homeworld. He knew nothing of the people or the individuals that may be responsible or where they would attack, but the time was closer than they could imagine.

Heeding to the man’s words, she called her three aides into the room. A blonde, a redhead and a dark haired woman stepped into Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad’s office. With two words from the brunette, they understood. “Suit up.” The angelic woman rose from her feet and sent a response to Grand Master Yoogle, “Senator Joan Lorraine is leaving for Thyferra and I would ask that you send a pair of Jedi to escort her. According to the treaty with the Galactic Empire, masters of diplomacy are going to be required to keep the Thyferran people from rising up and escalating our faction to another war.”

As she rose from her desk, Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad was still suited from her adventure to the Denon Golan III Battlestation for the arrest of Gavin Young. Grabbing a pair of blasters she had set on the end of the table, she holstered them carefully. Sending a message to the military commander, another individual had arrived at the Denon Golan III Battlestation and the brunette thanagarian wanted a personal meeting with the new guest

Eve had matched the vessel to that of Boba Fett and its usage at Geonosis at the time of Calias Ketra’s murder. If this woman had the galaxy’s most dangerous and elusive vessel, it was time for a small interview. A special security team was dispatched, but Arlyn wanted absolute confirmation of the vessel. “Send a message to Jase Denora. I would like him and Master Kyle Katarn to identify the vessel and arrest the woman personally. Bring her to my office, disarm her completely and have her changed into prisoner clothing.” Setting the tone of the meet was important and Arlyn wanted to make this woman felt like she was already locked into a lifetime of solitude.

Moving from the desk she filed a final request. “Eve send the following message to Ryan. ‘Ryan, my presence has been called to the Jedi Temple. A security agent has failed to report in and she had infiltrated one of the richest families on Denon. I would like you to check the residence with several of the finest officers under my command.”

And with that, Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad left her room and walked into the lobby where her three aides waited. Dipping their heads, they turned in unison and followed the brunette angel into the disappearing evening light. Several Security speeders were brought around, in which Arlyn and the aides boarded the first. Several seconds the caravan of speeders shot from their locations and towards the luminous Jedi building.

”Eh, do you think you could let the security chief know we’re back?”

The person behind the desk showed signs of having been startled by Drakes sudden question, as he hadn’t gotten her attention before asking. She quickly recovered, however, and was quick to offer a response.

“I’m sorry, but Chief Pallanén-Davad is currently not in.”
”Not in?”
“Yes. As in somewhere else.”

That was slightly unexpected.

”She’s not out till tomorrow, is she?”
“I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to that question.”

Drake nodded his head with a kind of extended yeah. Well, there was plenty of day left. He could wait in the lobby for a while, and if necessary, go back the ship for the night and come back in the morning.

Short post :( Up to you Alex how ya wanna do it, but I is be here.

Entering the building Kyp looked over his surroundings. A force of habit it seemed. Never really liking an surprises Kyp made his way towards the front desk. Behind it sat a young woman in dress clothing. Kyp must have looked out of place here in the security hq. Not wasting much time Kyp approached the desk and cleared his throat to gain the woman's attention, "Excuse me, Security Cheif Pallanén wanted to see me today. Do you know where I could find her?"
The woman glanced up and then furiously pounded away at a holoscreen. Before Kyp could say anything she looked back up, "Ah, Jedi Knight Kyp Durron you'll have to wait here to be escorted to her office."

Chief Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad's speeder soared over the morning skies, as her husband cruised the morning flow of traffic. The clouds and the feeling of darkness of the day before was gone, the bright sun had returned and its long and magnificent rays overlapped the many buildings. Ryan was quiet, even after a special night they had shared at home, and Arlyn decided to pose a question. "Is everything all right?"

Ryan took a moment to respond, his face neatly shaven from the scruffy hair of the night before, while his voice sounded more concerned than offensive, "You have been working more, that's all." The thanagarian shifted and he continued, "The kids and I miss you." It stung as balancing her positions was far more difficult than she had imagined.

"I know, I'm sorry. If I could have it any other way..." her voice trailed off as they approached Arlyn's private entrance to the building. Ryan turned, his cool and handsome face filled with a smile. "What?" Arlyn playfully asked.

Ryan laughed, "My wife is a busy lady, yet she has enough time to grab a coffee for her secretary." Arlyn had forgotten about the woman's drink at her side and laughed while grabbing it. Kissing her lips she added, "Because of your grace." Kissing him again, "I love you."

Ryan kissed her back, his hand haltering her once more, "I love you too." Arlyn opened the door, stepping onto the clean platform and eyed several agents and officers around the platform. She carried a tray of drinks and smiled at the officers. Humming a song she had sung to her children the night before, the thanagarian chief began to walk.

Arranianna beamed as the Security Chief handed her a favorite drink and surprise. "Thank you Chief." The thanagarian smiled, taking a sip of her own drink, "You're welcome Arranianna." As Arlyn looked over the daily appointments of her half-day, she asked, "Can you send in the first appointment when they're ready?" The secretary taking a sip acknowledged with a motion of her head, "Thanks, have a wonderful day. OH! And if you hear anything from Leia, feel free to enter the office at any time."

Arranianna grinned and scheduled for Drake to enter the room as the thanagarian disappeared into her office.

”I hope it goes better today than it did yesterday.”
”Yesterday?”
”Yes. When you sat around for a few hours waiting, and then were told you’d have to come back.”
”So?”
”You see nothing wrong with that?”
”No.”

As Drake entered the lobby, he was informed within a very short period of time that he could go into the security chiefs office. Taking the short amount required to shake her hand in greeting, he then got right to the point.

”It’s certainly an interesting job.” he began, holding up the datapad and holding it out for her to take back. ”And provided that a few additions or changes are made, I’m willing to accept the job.”

He waited to see what her initial response would be. No point continuing if she was dead set on using the terms she had laid out for him to read.

The thanagarian was at her desk as the supercomputer known as Eve, read the interesting report.

Quote:
Merr-Sonn Munitions:

12x C-10 Stun Grenades
12x G20 Glop Grenades
1x Class A Thermal Detonators

Total: 18,400 credits

Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad was far from a fool when the ex-Commander in Chief, smuggler, known lawbreaker, and the rough type that explained Han Solo, began to order weapons of such magnitude over the public holonet. His disregard for the regulations of citizens, let alone the military code, was surprising. Losing a child and one of his glory friends in the same day was hardly what one could consider a sane atmosphere, and perhaps, he needed to speak to a doctor of the mind, instead of the opening to a bottle of alcohol and gungho attitude of hero.

The thanagarian thanked the supercomputer and ordered, "Keep track of all other public transmission, orders, and movements he makes. One doesn't simply order this type of firepower and place it within a display case. At least not Han." Eve acknowledged. "And Eve, run a complete scan of the Denon Golan III Battle Station. It appears our technicians are still running a DNA match on our systems..."

Eve had direct access to the labs and answered her question, "DNA results failed to match a positive identity." Alatáriël shrugged it off, but what was even more curious, was that the woman had mysteriously and viciously escaped security personnell aboard a high class military station, successfully evading the tractor beams. How she managed a feat, must have been by the grace of the gods. Her brown eyes skimmed over the data reports from Han Solo's interesting purchase and the escape of the mystery woman and the information she was accessing.

"Get me Ryan." Alatáriël ordered the supercomputer, "I want him suited up and Boba Fett in the lower cells of Rebellion Security Headquarters itself."

The secrerary alerted Arlyn of Drake's presence in the hallway and his rapidly approaching pace, "Furthermore, this building moves to red alert. Double round the clock security on all floors. Any VIP entrance must be cleared by myself, and only myself. Otherwise reschedule them until Code Red, has been cleared."

The doors whooshed open, the man shook her hand and spoke quickly. With a simple answer and friendly smile, the thanagarian responded, "And what can I change or adjust for you today?" A chime interrupted her conversation as her husband appeared in holo form.

"Alatáriël. Boba Fett is nearly an hour away, the kids..." Arlyn's eyes begged for forgiveness, however, she needed the bounty hunter in her office within the next three hours. That woman posed more of the threat to the Rebellion, than any, and he could be the only links into stopping her masterminded escape and ploys. And she wasn't about to have justice served to Boba, when a lifetime of solitude and labor existed on Rhen Var. "Ryan, please." she paused, her eyes looking away from her husband at such a personal favor, "Secure the bounty hunter, I'll give you a security escort." Eve was already double security around the bounty hunter at the odds the woman was returning. Ryan nodded and closed the channel.

"I apologize Mr. Drake and would prefer you keep that tad of information a secret for now." she chuckled while sitting across from him, "Please, the tables are open for negotiation."

”There’s three main changes that I’m looking for. First, the option to go off every once in a while and do some bounty hunting or whatever. Second, that it not be a publicly known job. Third, that if it doesn’t work out after I’ve tried it for so many months or so, I’m free to quit without any further obligations short of not stealing anything or selling any information, stuff along those lines. I think that's all I wanted to add.”

Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad took a moment and responded, "Granted on all three of the additions. Except, may I remind you, as long as the Bounties stay within the law, are they permitted. With that tidbit aside, I accept your conditions."

With a smirk the thanagarian sat in her desk, her monitor display a countdown of the ETA to Boba Fett. "Anything else, Mr. Drake?"

The Security speeder and its four escorts landed on the roof of the Rebellion Security Headquarters. Opening the passenger seat door, Ryan Davad stepped into the morning sunlight. His Cyber Suit gleamed perfectly as Boba was escorted and taken from the back. The restraints were removed, his attachment to the vehicle broken. The Security Officers were about to restrain him again, however, Ryan shook his head. "Bring him to me." The drug was still administered, but Boba could sense more things, his speech slurred and his tongue unable to speak any language, but his mind was active and running. Ryan took a stepped towards the balcony, with Boba at his side.

"Do you miss the freedom?" Ryan pondered. The man stirred, yet no answer. "You know what you did was unlawful and immoral. And you're about to transported to a very cold world, Mr. Fett, because of those actions." Ryan turned and gazed towards the sun, his optical sensors able to withstand the brightness, "Bask in its glory and warmth." Ryan held a sense of pity for the man, yet the images of Ketra's death flashed before his mind. This man was not directly responsible; however, he aided Jase Denora and personally killed and brought hundreds to their deaths. “I’m giving you a moment to remember the brightness and to taste a slight bit of freedom” Ryan flicked his fingers again, and a new cloth was placed over the ex-hunter’s head. A few moments, the droned Fett began to walk towards his new prison.

***

Entering his wife's office, Ryan saw the man known as Drake. They were shaking hands while thanking each other for the business opportunity. Arlyn looked at Ryan, a smile flashing before her face. "This is my husband, Ryan." Ryan shook Drake's hand and shortly after, he gave a kiss to his wife. She ran her fingers across his armor and she mentioned, "Nice." Ryan chuckled before Ariannna beeped into the office. Her voice blasted from holo-communication tab.

"Chief, you have a visitor." her voice was agitated as if fighting off a Hutt collector, "Han Solo- Mr. Solo! Mr. Solo!" she called and desperately added, "He's on his way in."

Ryan looked at his wife, kissing her quickly before his sensors detected quick paced footprints outside her door. "Drake and I will step outside, I assume." Arlyn nodded her face grave and unexpecting of his arrival. "Drake?" Together the two stood by the door as the deranged Admiral burst through the automated doors. Ryan and Drake exited immediately, knowing the importance of Arlyn and Han’s discussion. The metallic door slammed shut, sealing their conversation from any outside listeners. Ryan’s most powerful sensors could not penetrate the doors and clearly understand, but he decided not to attempt to invade her privacy.

Drake and Ryan took a seat in the lobby, a Jedi in robes look baffled that at the scene the Admiral had created, as Ryan posed a question. “So… I read your work, very interesting.”

The sun's rays were just beginning to crest over the tall buildings of the military district as Han approached the grandiose building which housed security. This was the second time in two days he had to take time out of his schedule to drop in on these twerps. And unlike yesterday, he wasn't in the mood to play games. He was running on a standard hour of sleep, was very irritable and it showed.

No longer adorned in the uniform of an Alliance Admiral, Han was simply dressed in a plain tan shirt with brown vest, black trousers with the yellow piping of the Corellian bloodstripe running along the seams, black spacer boots and his gun rig. He fit every bit the part of the spice smuggler he used to be as he approached the receptionist he had hassled the day before.

She had begun to say something in his direction, but he simply turned a deaf ear to her and continued onward. It was the feathered hellion on the other side of the hall that he wanted. Trying to pull a fast one on me, huh? Well, you'll learn real quick not to screw with me when I'm angry.

The doors to her office parted abruptly as Han literally pushed his entire body into them to make his entrance. The occupants of the room stopped their work and stared at him like he was mad, but no matter. He just took up a confident stance at the end of the room with his thumbs looped around his belt and stared right back at them. Eventually they departed the room, leaving him alone with his prey.

A cocky smirk spread over his features at their departure before vanishing as he turned to face the winged security chief. It was replaced by a steely gaze as Han leaned forward and looked the woman directly in the eye. "Mornin', Ma'am," he hissed through clenched teeth. "I think we have some matters to discuss."

Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad brushed a gentle smile across her face as she stared into the eyes of the Rebellion Hero. His fame never really parted, yet finally, the two were face to face. For the first time in her life, Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad showed regret within her eyes and a shadow of fear casted along her face. "I'm terribly sorry, Admiral Solo." Despite his lack of military attire, she addressed him to his title, not daring to offend him with disrespect. She could only assume why this man was standing before her today, and it was every fiber in her body that wanted to defuse the anger within him.

"Admiral, my officers did everything they were trained to perform and more. If the invaders had set off any alarms, or anything, we would have been able to prevent much of what had occured. But they used stealth of the Force." Alatáriël wanted the man know she did everything in her power to protect his family, but perhaps he was here for different reasons. "Admiral, please speak your mind and I will do everything to answer."

Something else casted in her mind. Luke Skywalker. Her own pain winced throughout her body, learning of the news this morning. Her old Intelligence Chief had finally passed, and now, the ravages of anguish continued within the Solo family. There was very little the thanagarian Chief could do to calm the emotional storms that would develop today, but speak calmly.

”That was unexpected.”
”Well, I guess that’s a shame. No chance to finalize the deal. Guess we should go.”
”Oh, do shut up.”

He hardly noticed that the man next to him has said anything, and found himself asking him to repeat it.
“Your work. Very interesting.”
”Work?”
Praetor Audacious.”
”The son of Grevious.”
”Oh him. The Admiral droid, yeah. It was mostly just sticking some weapons and extra armor on the existing design. I got the impression that there were lightsabers or something I was suppose to install at a later point, though. Wasn’t clear on that.”

The Admiral remains a very interesting individual. Eve mentioned, her voice within Ryan's private mental processors. Ryan agreed, knowing the Cyborg was a very controversial being and rather forceful and aggressive than the typical security officer. It's existance was even wary with some of the ranks in the Alliance, some saying it was a beat cop, designed for private policing matters of the Chief. Which wasn't entirely false, she just preferred him for the more dangerous missions and when she required faster results.

"Yes, I remember her mentioning that." The Human Replica Droid paused and added, "Master Yoogle actually has them waiting for you at the Temple." Ryan accessed the time and noted that Arlyn still had three more hours before their family afternoon would begin. "I could take you there now, actually."

Han's gaze wavered for a fraction of a second as he realized the chief had gone off on a completely different tangent. Well, different from the reason Han had hauled himself into this office in the first place. All he was concerned about at the moment was getting answers pertaining to Boba Fett, but maybe it was better to go along with her and hide behind this facade for a while. Better to play the part of the innocent than go in with guns blazin'.

Allowing his demeanor to relax from the harried lunatic he had been when he entered the office, Han let his body slump into a chair across from her desk and idly picked up an object from her collection and began to inspect it. "It's a real shame they're paying you enough to afford something like this for doing nothing." He scoffed and twirled the object around in his fingers one last time before setting it back down on the desktop a little too hard. The resounding thud that followed brought a wry smirk to Han's lips as he glanced back up to the winged woman.

"Now, uh," Han began again, folding his hands in front of him on the desk in a mocking gesture. "I couldn't help but notice how fast you started rattling off excuses. I don't wanna hear that - bad for business, ya know. I'm just gonna ask a few simple questions and I want you to give me a few simple answers. Easy enough, right?"

Make this good, Solo. You're pulling your own leg as much as you're pulling her's. Don't blurt out Fett just yet. Just keep 'er busy. "One," he indicated the first question by thrusting his thumb into the air. "You shouldn't need alarm systems to determine a threat. Shouldn't you security bums be more stealthy than that? Hell, you should've saw 'em coming as soon as they landed on the planet. What kind of monitoring systems you got in that command room of your's anyway? They ain't doing their job. Maybe you should put your funds towards new equipment instead of junk like this." He gestured to the object on the desk again, knocking it over as his hand waved passed it.

"Oops," he muttered sarcastically as the object cleared the edge of the desk and tumbled onto the floor with a crash.

”That would work.” he said, standing as he did so. ”Maybe I could see about getting two or three for myself while I’m there.” he added, only half jokingly.

Kyp stood impatiently against a wall, today he had seen so many come in and out it bothered him. Kyp had even gotten a chance to see Han Solo himself walk in the building, obviously "cutting in line." Kyp only had so much patience. Maybe that was his problem. On the other hand he had been standing here for a few hours and his legs burned slightly.

Raising his hood over his head Kyp closed his eyes and began to probe the surrounding individuals. For many years Kyp had learned to do it, but he was still adept at the skill. Much to his surprise Kyp came upon another being he had not seen in roughly a year or so. The same man he had seen on Corellia when he first say the Security Cheif. What bothered Kyp the most is that this human was no human at all. He was no present in the force, something the baffled Kyp.

Pushing aside his thoughts Kyp closed his eyes and dived into a state of meditation. If he had to wait at least he could do something productive.

Han Solo's arrogance seemed to be at its peak when he was emotionally disturbed, however, he did provide a single point. Information should not be handed so carelessly to him. She watched as he sloppily grabbed a family heirloom from her desk; something that had been handed down from generation to generation as a token of good fortune. Han played with it, her own will suspending the thanagarian from snatching it from the man as if he was a toddler.

He thrusted his thumb into the air while making the first point across the Security Chief. Her smile was forced as she watched Han glancing from the heirloom to herself multiple times all the while swinging it wildly in the air. He was here for something, and spewing information about the alarm systems was a little unusual. He sarcastically blamed security, Arlyn's head nodding ever so often as if she was believing his remarks and would be one of the drones he was used to and run and fix the problems. The Admiral finished with swinging his arm wide, and knocking the heirloom onto the ground. By sheer luck, the object failed to break.

"Oops.," came the idiotic response. Arlyn slowly rose from her desk, her smile kindly failing to reflect anger that was building within her. Finally she snapped at the ill dressed military officer.

"Who the hell do you think you are, Admiral?" the Chief was dangerously blunt on his rank. "I expected a sappy story of anger about the theft of your children and you raddle on about faulty security systems." She took a few steps for her desk, picking up the artifact from Thanagar and placing it far from Han Solo's reach. "And I felt terrible for the kidnap and Luke Skywalker's death." Her voice stung for a moment, Luke's past in Rebellion Intelligence proved to recall old memories. “And I couldn’t imagine what you were going through. Losing an old friend and a child.” Arlyn knew things at home were not the best between Han and Leia as well, but she wouldn’t comment further.

“I can understand your frustration, however, I can promise you, we had the best equipment and officers securing your residence. The attackers were using the Force.” Her eyes looked at his wounded body, which carefully went under medical repairs and checks, “You have experienced their malice and power. Did a blaster prove effective, Admiral?” She shook her head as if answering a child, “No, it did not. Neither did conventional and advanced security means. Now what are your other two concerns, Solo?”

She breathed slightly, the smile never fading.

The winged woman stood from her desk and carefully stepped around to the front to collect the fallen heirloom. Han watched her with an icy stare and meditated on her words as he rubbed a forefinger along the scar on his chin - a gesture that he came to associate with worry, guilt and frustration. And to be completely honest, he was feeling all three right now. Then again, after all he'd been through in one night, who wouldn't? You're growing too soft, Solo. 'Bout time you got back out in the real galaxy and did something worth while again.

By the time the woman had made her way back around to the other side of the desk, any hint of his true feelings were gone and the Sabacc face was back into place. He wasn't about to reveal his internal suffering to her. The only person who was lucky enough to witness his grief was Leia, and even then, it was through a few lingering tears. He'd like to keep it at that. "You know," he drawled on with a smug smirk. "Normally, I'd be pretty upset being called a heartless biggot who doesn't seem to care about the well being of my family, but I'll let that slide for now. After all, you seem in need of an outlet to vent in order to keep your sanity. I'll give ya that." He winked at her.

Alright, you stalled enough. Time to hit 'er up before she gets more bitchy and refuses to talk. "Anyway," he waved his hand passively to change the subject while shifting his weight in the chair to get more comfortable. "My second concern is a prisoner your database had listed a couple of days ago - a very special prisoner. And if what I heard is true, I'm surprised you managed to bag 'em in the first place." He paused and leaned closer to the desk with his lip curled up in a slight sneer. "Name's Boba Fett. Ring any bells?"
