Avaritus received the message from Jax, and immediatly stood, beckoning Vader to lead the way back to the shuttle. Turning to Admiral Onca, and his father, he said apathetically, "Make your way back to the Traumatize."

Turning his back on the two, he followed Vader out of the event hall and back towards the hangar. Sighing to himself, he had hoped that he would get a chance to push Jase's buttons a little while they were here, but from the sense he got just moments before, he figured Jax had had some fun with the man.

As they entered the hangar, Avaritus nodded towards Jax and made his way to the shuttle.

Sorry for the... you know, not posting for 2 months. :p I'm not sure how many of you have left already, but this takes place after Yoogle's last post.

Inspired by the flow of feelings from the venerable Yoogle, Leia made her way, very slowly, across the shining floor of blue stone. Her shoes clicked softly on the smooth rock as the skylight began to open again, an ever-growing light following her theatrically as she walked. She was flanked by a pair of visible security guards, and watched by countless more. She strove to maintain her dispassion, at least until she reached the podium, in front of the guests. Many of them were, in the past or present, enemies, and many more were political rivals. Regardless of the specifics, all were watching her mood, mentally analyzing and assessing her emotional strength and coherence. None could truly perceive what Leia felt inside. It was important that she be strong, even though there was no one to support her.

Just as she entered the general area, exiting the small narthex which enclosed the turbolift to the upper level, she felt something odd in the room. Like a panging sensation, it was scouring the room. For her. With years of diplomatic training and through the Force, she was able to maintain her stride... but she spared a quick look around the gigantic hall.

Her trained eye could pinpoint all the guards, watching her every motion, amongst the crowd and around the perimeter. She could pick out several faces – Borsk Fey'lya, the very definition of “political rival,” was the first that caught her eye. Then there was Sarkane Frescoke of Corellia, Avadian Kildrillion of Duro, and --

And Darth Vader of the Galactic Empire. Leia quickly averted her eyes and fixed them firmly on the podium before her. Could the presence of her father have been the feeling? She didn't know. But she was now overcome by a firm desire to finish her eulogy and quickly make her exit.

Her escort stopped at the foot of the podium as she proceeded up the short stair of steps. With a passing glance to the lightsaber and ashes of her brother, she stood up to the post and looked out over the crowd. They awaited her voice, expectantly and demandingly.

Leia looked down onto the podium to glance over her notes. She had not written many; most of what followed was created on the spot. “Although we are here today,” she began, her knees, hidden behind the podium, trembling. “For a most horrible reason... we can take comfort in all of what my brother has done, and that he's now, finally, at peace.”

She continued onward, slowly gaining courage as the words issued from her mouth. She recounted the first time she met Luke and the events that followed. She occasionally glanced to her father, but every time she did it was met with nothing but a blank slate, seemingly uncaring.

She finally ended with tears in her eyes as the skylight once again grew dim for a long moment of silence. Leia, groping the podium, slowly tore herself away to Luke's ashes. She stood staring at them for a long awhile, then Leia stepped down from the stand, briskly walking to the narthex. The guards flanked her as she was finally concealed from all the prying eyes and judging faces.

Borsk sat in the row for a long moment as he watched Leia retreated from the stand. She was proceeding down the pathway hurried and deliberately. He looked down at the ground as the lights grew dim once again and sat for several moments in memory of the great Jedi Master.

He determined, after the moment had passed, to visit Leia. Although both were aware of their hot political relationship, few knew that they had grown close over the years. Borsk had perfected, in his mind, the difference between professional and personal lives. A small number of people could understand the level of devotion Borsk had to the things about which he cared: Bothawui, the Alliance, his own allies and freedom. Most people dismissed it as political zeal or a quest for power.

That was not to say, however, that Borsk wouldn't vie for the Chief of State position if he was able. He would undoubtedly do a better job at remaining unbiased and objective than Leia. This was a changing galaxy, and many of the forces shaping it were close to Organa Solo's heart. She was becoming more a subject to the galaxy than a controller, and Borsk felt that perhaps she was aware of that.

But, that wasn't his purpose. It wasn't today, at least. As he walked through the crowds of people who were now leaving and talking, his one aim was to comfort his partner in one of the most unique friendships in the galaxy. Surely the holos that would appear of him comforting the unfortunate Mrs. Organa Solo wouldn't hurt his image, either, but that was beside the point.

He entered the antechamber in which Leia was preparing to leave. Around her was Winter, chaperoning Jonash, an astromech and a protocol droid. Borsk came towards her and nodded slightly. But soon, Leia took him up in a hug.

Leia eventually pulled back from the embrace, her eyes moist as she looked into her friend-rival's face. "Thank you," she quietly said as she allowed a smile to play over her face.

Borsk simply nodded, rather taken aback by her show of affection. "I am just glad to be here for you, Leia," he said, his stately tone betraying his actual sympathies. But Leia knew when he was being honest; this was one of those rare moments.

After Borsk had left, Leia turned to the rest of her party, prepared to leave before the wave of well-wishers arrived. She nodded to Winter and, taking Jonash by the hand, began to travel to the exit.

She relished in the touch of her son's skin, for she knew he was a valuable commodity. The events of the past few days had left her in incredible disarray. Try as she might to find solace in meditation through the Force, it was a difficult task. She could not comprehend why fate would will it that Jaina and Luke be taken from her at all, not to mention in such short interval. It did not help that she didn't have Han, who would undoubtedly try to offer any support he could.

Leia exited the building, taking mind to cautiously check her surroundings. She could be certain of nothing at this strange time. Then, suddenly piercing her mind, a soft trill of sounds issued from behind her.

She halted her stride and looked to see Artoo, polished and re-painted for the occasion, watching her. His lights were a gentle blue in reflection and passivity. He softly cooed a question.

"I don't know, Artoo," she stammered slightly as she looked on the small droid. "I guess you just stay with me for now."

"Mistress Leia," another frantic tone, this time in a modulated Basic tongue, addressed. "He means that... well, it's rather hard to explain."

Leia looked up to Threepio. He was also shining golden today. Still, even the best cleaning and oil baths could not hide his worry. "What?" She asked.

"Well, that is," he stammered as he exchanged glances with Artoo. "What, or, how can we function without Master Luke?"

Leia bit her lip and studied the two companions. She had known the two droids as long as she knew Luke. They were, to her, almost like a representation of him. "I'm sure he'd want you to stop worrying, Threepio," she said with a slight smirk.

Leia and party have now left the funeral.
