Leia sat in the private balcony's enclosed room, surrounded by security guards. The room, like the rest of the assembly hall, was ornately decorated with fine black drapery and delicate blue and green flowers. The hall was clad in translucent azure marble floors, which extended to the walls as they rose high to the vaulted ceiling. The sole source of light for the building was a massive skylight, measuring about half of the area of the ceiling, which illuminated the whole enclosure quite effectively. In the center of the main auditorium was a pillar with a bust containing the likeness of Luke Skywalker and a small jar containing some of his ashes.

The whole area was swarming with security. Darth Vader, her father, was expected to reveal himself. Several Imperials had also already landed, with more surely on the way. It was very tense. Leia believed most of the Imperials had shown up only as a fawned gesture of caring, but she always had to second-guess herself – perhaps Luke was indeed universally recognized as a life worth being lived.

A servant droid stepped in the room and placed a tray containing a pitcher and glass of water on top of one of eight spherical golden decorations in her room. The droid had a hard time balancing it, before it eventually placed the tray on Leia's lap very abruptly.

Leia looked up at the droid as it scurried away, then brought the glass of water to her lips. She sipped it quietly as she watched the crowds pour into the room. Soon the ceremony would begin in remembrance of her brother.

Jase Denora and Sgt. Emannuel Herdez walked along the street, not speaking a word to each other. Jase had sent word to find Sarafina Arkal at the Jedi Temple, but noone could find a trace of her. He pondered this slowly, trying to figure why, if at all, she was here. He had left her for fear of what could happen from her associating with him. It had been safe for her. He regretted not leaving Erics in her care when they had parted ways. The chld had adored Jase. He saw him not as a killer, but as a father, big brother and role model all wrapped up in one. The boy had grown especially Fond of Boba fett, Jase wondered if Fett felt any grievance over the child's loss.

Of course he had, Fett had buried Erics in a safe haven while Jase had healed from his injuries. The Mandalorian and the Dark Jedi, an odd pairing of brothers indeed. The sun shifted in the Denon sky and Jase looked up to the sky. You'd better take care of yourself, Fett. It had been an odd life for the assasin. Years of killing and a childhood that left him emotionally devoid. Discovering his abilities, nearly succumbing to the grip of the Dark Side. The murder of Calias Ketra, his most brutal slaying ever. Beginning to learn of what a family was again. Having it ripped away from him. The explosion a few days ago that left him nearly dead...

He leaned on the walking stick, stopping his pace. His breath came in and out in shallow repetition. Herdez looked to him. Jase, looking at the ground through those empty grey eyes, held a hand up. " I'm fine, Herdez. This is nothing, I have been through worse." Herdez nodded and continued walking as soon as Jase did. The killer looked ahead of him, closing his eyes and focusing on the Force. He was still too weak to regain his former control over it, he would need more time to recover. Or do you, assasin? The thought crept back into his mind. Pulling at the blocks he had put up to prevent himself from unleashing his talent with the Dark Side. Why should I block it?

Yes, indeed Jase was feeling even more compelled to let the restraint go. He could control it. The Dark Side merely fueled one's strengths through their own feelings. He was so emotionally calm a majority of the time, why would it be a problem? Yes, he would open himself to the Dark Side once more. Regain his former prowess, become tone of the most feared men in the galaxy again. He opened his mind to the Dark power, lettingit flow into his very being. Focusing on the hatred he felt for the people who had wronged him in the past, he felt his ability to concentrae grow. Soon, his limp was improved. Not exceptionally, but he leaned on the staff perceptivelly less.

They came upon the building that the funeral for Skywalker was being held in. Jase found it amusing that the fool had died of a simple illness. The man had never been able to even decide on a one set of beliefs for as long as Jase had known him. Jase spoke, in a tone of voice that reminded herdez that his Colonel was at , one time, one of the most feared killers n the galaxy. " Let's go in to pay oour respects, "Jase said, satisfied that the Dark Side was becoming a part of him again. Entering the building, they headed to the lobby. It was time to see why all of these people cared for just one man.

Hell.

Exactly what this funeral represented with every single worst case security scenario occuring. The Imperial Emperor himself was landing and that was difficult enough, let alone, the pompous Carnor Jax as its escort. The celebration of Luke's life and the mourning of his passing was difficult to feel when so many other factors rested on her shoulders. Tactically, she was alert. Emotionally, she could not feel for her old Intelligence Chief, not yet.

Leia Organa Solo sat across the facility and Alatáriël watched as the server droid she had sent fumble with a few things before setting the tray on the woman's lap. The thanagarian shifted, her eyes scanning the well placed agents, monitors, and dozens of other devices and droids throughout the chamber. Knowing the dark jedi were present, two cautions were taken. One was the Jedi. The other, was more decorative, yet highly classified. Her lips curled with a smile at the thought of Carnor getting out of hand.

"Confirmation of Death Squadron's arrival." Eve stated in the thanagarian's ear piece. Ah, so Darth Vader is here. He had been responsible for billions of lives, and the citizens themselves might take it to themselves to kill the man. Certain factors were in place, however, to protect the man's life. She grumbled and slightly annoyed at the thought of Leia allowing the individuals on the surface. What good would this accomplish? Quench a fake sense of sorrow, most likely.

Sighing, Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad stepped forward and watched as Jase Denora made his appearance. Legally, Arlyn was unable to arrest the man, but for now, she waited and watched as he moved freely about the chamber. He was being watched. More closely than he knew. At the present moment, she could do nothing with the letter of marque stopping her, but the very moment he broke that, he would find himself in Fett's old prison.

Boba Fett had managed to escape. The thought returned to her. It was kept on low profile, for now. How he managed to achieve such a thing made the thanagarian sure that it was internal breach. The extent was unknown, but she would be overseeing the investigation. The sly fool would be caught once more and whomever assisted him would serve justice alongside the old bounty hunter.

Whoosh. The doors behind Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad opened and turning around, she saw nothing but her ears heard, "Arrive the Imperials have." Looking downwards she saw the green Jedi master. "Darkness, with them, it is."

It had taken a whole hour to get passed by Alliance security, they were fairly thorough, probably nervous seeing a Mando'ad face to face even without the armor...even more so to see one on their capital world.
He had left the pilots of Delta squadron's Starfuries with two orders; the first to stay with their ships and let not a single person near them even if they had to resort to forceful measure, non-lethal of course.
The second was that should anything severe happen to him, head back to Carida and bring the news to both Scyntor and the Imperial Marines.

He tugged at the neck of his dress uniform, he hated the color, too bright and cheery for his liking. He saw a few Rebels around the area give him various looks, most of them a quiet hostility, a few even of respect. Several times he contemplated turning around and leaving, the time could probably be better spent in the cockpit of one of his Starfury heavy interceptors or on a sim range in melee training.
Although part of him did want to be here, Skywalker was a good warrior, with good potential...it was a shame he was gone Kal thought, he would have enjoyed the opportunity to cross blades with the Jedi on the battlefield.

He looked around for that Rebel Thanagarian, with so many Imperials present, including Emperor Vader, he was certain she would be hiding around here, waiting for them to make the slightest mistake, then she would pounce on it as usual.
It would probably all go straight to hell after that...though the thought of seeing her skewered by a Sith Lord and his bodyguards did bring the smallest of smiles to Kal's face.

***

For some reason he immediately thought of that girl back on Coruscant. He didn't know why, but she just seemed to pop into his thoughts.
As if that weren't odd enough he heard the voice again, that same voice from back on the bridge of the Genesis many weeks ago. "Come back to me..."
He spun around, eyes darting from one person to the next, hoping to see whom spoke to him but to no avail, no one was close enough to him to have said it so softly. He groaned and resumed his walk to the lobby, figuring it was a figment of his imagination.

Little did he know that the voice came from a real person, one that he already knew quite well...

Been a while

It couldn't get worse than this. Denon was going to hell in a hand basket. The Emperor; Darth Vader himself was landing on the planet. Dark Jedi and Jase Denora added to the problem. If Kyp had any amount of luck, everything would go just fine with no problems. Though Kyp was positive about the situation he couldn't help think everything would spiral out of control.

The past few weeks had been slow. Trying to find an apprentice was far more difficult than Kyp had planned. Kyp knew he could teach a padawan to become a knight; his problem however was finding a suitable padawan. "I'll find one eventually.", Kyp said to himself.

Taking his seat near the back of the assembly hall, Kyp closed his eyes and began to prepare for anything this day could throw at him. If something horrible were to happen he'd have to be able to react occordingly. Before Kyp let his mind slip into meditation he gave a moment to Luke; knowing he would not be able to later.

Jase leaned on the staff, looking behind him as he heard a familiar voice. Yes, just as he suspected. Grand Master Yoogle, a being that Jase still held a small amount of contempt for. He was sure the diminutive Jedi was a powerful warrior in his own right. He respected him for that. It was the mindless idealism of the Jedi that Jase could not stand. It was what prevented him from ever choosing either the Jedi or Sith way. The way he saw it, the Force was merely a tool. Both sides of the spectrum viewed it as a way of life, something that embodied their day to day aspects.

While Jase favored the Dark side, he could never go with the ideals of the Sith. He chose when to use his emotions, it simply wasn't prudent to let them control him. Gripping the walking staff to support his weight, he neared the Jedi Master and another, more personal influence: Alatariel Pallanen. Nodding to them both, he spoke. " Darkness, Master Yoogle? I still fail to see why anyone should fear the Dark. I have found that only by embracing it, can I truly live." He turned his gaze to Arlyn before the Jedi Master began waxing philosophical. " Alatariel... so nice to see you here."

Motioning to Herdez, Jase kept her gaze. " Where are my manners? This is Sergeant Emmanuel Herdez, one of my most trusted officers." herdez nodded to them both, remaining silent. Jase kept his emotionally void gaze locked on the Thanagarian, seeing the burn in her eyes. Oh yes, he knew that well. She still wanted nothing more to lock him up,see him rot for the crimes that the Alliance currently held him in servitude for.

" I often wonder these days... why you saved my life. Yes, I have been told of how yo kept me safe until the emergency teams arrived at the hangar. You still want me to rot in a cell, do you not? He leaned in closer, not wanting the whole crowd to hear the next part. As he began speaking again, a rare glimpse of emotion was shown in his eyes; a flash of grief and pain, both physical and mental. " I have my adoptive son, Erics, wrenched from my life. Witnessed him beheaded, while i was powerless to save him. The man who did it still roams free. I have lost my ship, a vessel that I invested a great deal of time and finances in. I nearly died and was almost crippled by the explosion."

" Hell, I, Jase Denora, feared killer across the Galaxy; humbled myself into servitude to this Alliance for my own chance at a new life. Don't you think that's enough penance for one assasin to take? Do you not think that I have reaped the bitter fruits of my past life? Instead, I still have you and your people monitoring my everyday life. I live knowing that you are always waiting for the one chance, the barest opprotunity to throw me in a cage to rot. Not a day goesby that I do not regret killing your Calias, but I am growing weary of your distrust. Take me at my word, Pallanen, I am done with my past. The only thing I am interested in, is my future. If you truly wish to still see me pay, then I suggestthat next time you have an opprotunity to kill me when I cannot defend myself, that you take it."

Herdez cleared his throat, seeing that Jase was finished. " Colonel, it might do well for relations if we try to speak friendly with some of the Imperials. " Jase nodded, turning his back to Arlyn. " Yes, I do believe that would be a good idea. We do not have this chance every day. Good day, Miss Pallanen." With that, Jase walked away from her, leaning on the staff heavily. Spotting a well dressed Imperial man, Jase walked up tohim and nodded. He recognized the man from Intel photos. One Kalydon Skirata, an Admiral in the Imperial Navy. Jase didn't know much else about him.

" Greetings, I am Lieutenant Colonel Jase Denora. Unlike these other... Alliance personne..", the words were obviously hiding his contempt for his own faction, " I am glad to have an opprotunity to meet other warriors. You are... Kalydon Skirata, yes? You seem to have a... honorable air to you... Mandalorian, yes? It is recognizable, I've known more then a few Mando in my time. If that is the case, then you have my respect, sir."

Kal turned when he heard the man speak, "You are correct in knowing who and what I am Jase Denora." He smiled at the fact that knowledge of Mandalorian culture wasn't completely lost on the galaxy, that some still knew it.
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed someone, a familiar face...slender, yet firm. It took him a few milliseconds to remember whose face it was, the girl on Coruscant. He was about to excuse himself to go off and talk to her but when he looked back she was gone.

Another time, he thought to himself. Many questions coursed through his mind. Was there a connection between her and the voice? And what of the recurring dreams? Who was she? Kal decided to leave the questions for when he saw her again, another time.

"I appreciate the complement Mr. Denora, but who exactly have you known who were also Mando'ad?" The question came out of a long held interest by Kal to find his original family, his mother and father. If he couldn't resolve one issue at this moment, why not try to resolve another he thought.

Chief Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad gently smiled to the lunatic speaking to her. Her lips were sealed in a perfect and kind smile as Jase Denora rambled about his life, using a death of a child to excuse his behavior, and further listened to his created grandoise and self-involved reputation. With nothing to say to the derranged individual, the thanagarian allowed the man to believe he hit a nerve or a soft spot. Quite contrary to his own beliefs, she was amazed at how well thought of he was. Feared killer? The only thing she was afraid of, perhaps, was the fact that he had already broken the Letter of Marque and an arrest was already legal. She sighed as Denora began to play Rebellion diplomat. Attempting to kiss Imperial ass, was never okay in her book.

"Deny any Imperial below the rank of Admiral the right to interrupt my security proceedings." her lean eyes had noticed Skirata was a Vice. With another smirk, she left where Denora had riddled on about himself who had attempted to size up to something that was never actually there. Walking gently, Yoogle continued his analysis of the funeral before giving his own observation of Denora.

"Understand himself, he does not. Strong enough, he is not, to resist the temptations of the darkside. His ability to see through that, does not exist." The old man took a breath, "Excuse me, please. Matters to attend to, I do."

"Of course Master Yoogle. I'll see you around." Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad shook the green man's hand before watching him depart. With a turn of her head and a simple twist of her torso, she resumed course for the temporary security headquarters.

Jase nodded, leaning on the staff. " Yes, I have run into a few of your kind during my life. My previous career enabled me to meet a few, though only in brief enough increments that I could not get enough information." Jase coughed and clutched at his rib cage. In a flash, Herdez pulled out a bottle and handed it to him. Taking a pill from the bottle, Jase popped it in his mouth and forced himself to swallow it dry. " Excuse me, Skirata, I was in a serious ship accident not long ago. Quite the mess, I should be dead."

" Now, back to your previous statement. The only Mandalorian I am truly familiar with, would be the Bounty Hunter, Boba Fett. He is a man of honor and a worthy warrior. Of course, I sense your attentions are elsewhere and I am not here to play diplomat. Perhaps we shall meet again, maybe on the battlefield?", Jase gave the man a small bow of respect and turned back to the growing crowd. Something was wrong, very wrong. He could feel something, something very dangerous.

" Frak....he's on the planet....," Jase said, his voice ringing with realization. " Sir?", Herdez said warily, wondering what his Colonel was speaking of. " Avaritus...," Jase said, " the man who killed my son." Herdez looked around, not seeing anyone that looked threatening enough. " Sir, if he killed your son, why not have him arrested?" Jase shook his head, " No Herdez, it is personal. Noone is allowed to take his life besides me. Come, let us retire to the balcony and watch how this scene plays out. This funeral is going to be interesting."

Yoogle peered over the funeral, his mind stretching to all those present, the darkness of Denora ever present and pounding. Above the surface of the planet, the Dark Jedi existed. They waited and in time, they would come to the surface. Yoogle sighed and marvelled at the wonders of galaxy. A Sith was landing on the Rebellion homeworld to mourn for his lost son. Skywalker was a brilliant man and a great loss, but Darth Vader. Surely even his Security Chief friend would see through the lies of the Galactic Empire, but even she was unprotested to his arrival.

Looking to the Chief of State, Yoogle could sense agony, yet curiosity resting in her soul. She had hope, yet despair. Her conflicting emotions were understandable, but she lacked the proper training. Kyp Durron was present, his quick and stable mind resting on the thoughts of the Darkness that was approaching the surface.

It was not long ago that it was present, in the form of the kidnapper and his aides. The woman had managed to escape, nearly killing two of Yoogle's Jedi and reunited with the man and they escaped into the void of space. Yoogle suceeded in the form of retrieving and saving a single child of the Solo family, but failed for Jaina.

"Master Yoogle." came a boy's voice. Yoogle turned, his mind returning to the present. "Is everything all right?" The boy was well tuned, trained by the newest addition to the dark forces. Darth Eximus, previously Salo Daast. Yoogle took the apprentice as his pupil, not wanting the boy to follow in it's trainer's footsteps.

"Yes." Yoogle stated slowly. His massive eyes looking up to the human. "The darkness. Evil it is." The boy wrapped his Jedi cloak around himself and stared upwards.

"You speak of whats up there?"

Yoogle dipped his head, "Yes. Darth Vader, it is." The boy looked downwards, his eyes wide and his heart filled with a mix of emotions. The boy pondered, tempted and curious. Yet fearful, anger, and filled with determination. Yoogle continued, "Tempted, you will be, to join the darkside. Seductive, the forces of evil are. Collapse to its will, you must not.

Ayon shook his head, but hesitated in his answer. "I won't join him. Not like Master Daast." Yoogle paused, but knew the boy's intentions were true. It wasn't enough to persuade Yoogle, but he smiled and agreed. The darkside had tempted and persuaded many, it would certainly tempt the Jedi present here. Perhaps not through words, but the Force attention they would collect.

For now, Yoogle waited with his new apprentice at his side. Jedi were also present, waiting throughout the funeral chambers. Some of the greatest evil left in the galaxy would be landing, standing and 'mourning' feet away from them. The Force or any form of weapon could not protect the Sith and Dark Jedi, not here, but today they were guarded by something less powerful. Diplomacy and politics. Yoogle would watch the man that murdered his friends of old. He would watch the butcherer of their people attend his son's funeral, and instead of Justice, he would simply observe.

The Jedi were patient and today that patience would surely be tested.

After 37 minutes of security procedures and his hand sore from taking out his Alliance ID, he made it to the building where Luke's body was being held. He respected the man; Luke was one of the many people who influenced him to leave his home at 18 to leave for Coarsaunt. Though blasting through TIE squadrons whas not his initail plan, he had done it.

He watched as people can to pay respects to the body. Surge stood near the back of the room, silent as could be. After much arguing the Security Officers they temorarily confinscated his two blaster pistols. He would have hated to bring them in with him, but with so many Imperials appearing at the funeral, he felt as if he could trust no one.

I'm attempting to entirely redo Surge, so there you go.

Kyle looked on with an outwardly unemotional face at the arrival of part of the Imperial delegation at this funeral. In his opinion, it was a complete outrage and disgrace that the Imperials were invited to attend, and even more that they actually had the nerve to accept. Skywalker grew up, like him, oppressed by the Empire, although in different ways.

Yet, there were things that couldn't be changed, and it was no point in grousing over them. It was the future that mattered, after all.

Thanks Surge.

"The Imperials have launched fifteen TIE Defenders and a shuttle." a security officer belayed the sensor readings. Only a single shuttle was permitted to leave the Executor class, not with an escort. "Our X-Wings are responding." The thanagarian eyed the viewer and watched as a swarm of X-Wings matched their course and speed for the private hangar.

"Hail the Executor, inform them they failed to cooperate with the original plan and that I require a reason." A damn good one. What are they trying to pull here? Alatáriël watched as 12 fighters stayed in orbit, obviously onlooking towards the surface for their precious shuttle.

"If they scan ANYTHING, destroy them." Alatáriël ordered moving throughout the headquarters, "Get the diplomatic department on the holoscreen..." she began to call out various orders, "Triple the security team at the hangar bay, send Ryan as an agent... I want his personal assessment of the situation down there." Her eyes fluttered at the viewscreen and she muttered a few thanagarian curse words. Collecting herself, she asked, "Can you collect any and all of the Jedi present at the funeral. We are going to that hangar bay."

She watched as security snipers, rocketeers, X-Wings, and other more unseen forms of security moved into position. Her eyes were fluent with the situation, with the feeling that Imperials were fully aware of what they were doing and causing all these problems. Yoogle and his apprentice arrived, the first of the Jedi. "Sorry to disturb you Master Yoogle." Her eyes glanced around, "We've had some problems with the dignitaries from the Galactic Empire and I'd like you and the rest of the Jedi to be present. If things go badly, we'd require your assistance."

A security agent approached Alatáriël, "They just landed. One of the cockpits is opening up." He pointed to the viewer. With a flip out of the pilot's seat and a smooth landing, she hissed. "Jax."

Still in quiet communion with the Force Kyp was interupted as a man tapped his shoulder. "Excuse me sir, your needed at the Security Center." he said with a exhausted voice. It seemed the thanagarian woman kept people busy around here. Standing up from his comfortable position Kyp responded, "Lead the way."

As Kyp followed the man he began to notice to increase in Alliance personnel. There was no point in asking why there was more security, most likely more dim-witted Imperials were landing than originally thought. Passing some security Kyp was lead into a poorly lit room where every square inch of the walls was covered by a monitor. Spotting the thanagarian woman and Yoogle Kyp advanced past the security agent who lead him here.

Approaching the two Kyp noticed Yoogle had with him a youngling. Coming up on his former Master's left Kyp bowed then knelt on one knee. "Master Yoogle, how bad is it?"

The transport docked, the doors hissing as they opened to reveal the air of Denon. Ryan proceeded out of the vehicle first, then Carnor, then the remaining of the security team. They moved in silence, much like the short trip to the temporary headquarters, but it was most likely better this way.

His eyes scanned the many security checkpoints, the agents both seen and unseen throughout the public funeral and continued forward. Arriving at last, his wife waited with a kind and gentle posture. Her voice was sweet as her eyes met her greatest rival. "Carnor Jax. Welcome to Denon." she called to him. Because of his intimate connection with the woman, he could detect a sense of victory about her. He resisted the urge to smile himself, but stood at the entrance.

Arlyn.

The name that matched the appearance before him tore through his mind like a tidal wave of acid, scouring the blemishes of time and leaving his thoughts an untarnished surface of pure loathing. His body quickly became flooded with the strong, nearly undeniable urge to leap forward, to snap the womans neck before he was brought down by a hail of blasterfire, a quick end and an early grave for the former Sovereign Protector.

But no, that would not do. The punishment would be over too quickly, and there were things he wanted to do before he watched the life ebb from her eyes. This was neither the time nor the place. Instead, he pulled a deep breath and, releasing the air, released the tension and the rage in a single motion. The Force flowed through his veins, scouring the last evidence of his aggression away and leaving him a cold and emotionless shell.

His head inclined slightly in deference to her, his hands unfurling from the opposing sleeves to clasp at the small of his back, over the cloak he wore. He paid no mind to the humaniform 'droid or the four guards that assumed a semicircle behind him, blocking his path to the transport should he attempt something. Of course, he knew that there was nothing to attempt, that he was here for only the reasons he presented.

"Lady Pallanén-Davad. I wish I could say that it is a pleasure to see your smiling face, but I can't begin to bring myself to the consideration of stomaching such filth. Instead, we will both drop the pleasantries and not put up any facades of geniality. Neither of us like one another, everyone knows it, so there is no use. You wanted an apology and I am here to present it.

"I am sorry for deviating from the predetermined plan. I understand that the starfighters are a concern and that you were forced to take the measures you did in the best interests of planetary security. I am sorry to cause you such an inconvenience. However, I will not apologize for my deviation in the plan, nor will I apologize for taking a direct interest in my Emperor's security. My trust in matters of security is dependent upon how far I can throw the Chief in charge. And since I can't come within ten meters of you without becoming physically ill at the rampant fear that you exude, that should give you an indication of my confidence."

His words were smooth, fluid, without a trace of malice or aggression; if anything, his tone was that of polite conversation, talking about the weather or the upbringing of younglings. His posture was entirely relaxed, the words flowing with the smoothness of the air currents above. He remained those ten meters away from her, watching her with a casual eye for her reaction.

Alatáriël couldn't describe the amount of rivalry pleasure of the apologetic words created within her. Her mouth curved, the grin parting momentarily for, "Apology accepted, Carnor Jax." She moved slightly closer to the man, no sign of fear present within her facial expressions or even the exterior of her soul. "If you place your trust in the distance you 'throw me', that would be quite the toss." Her wings moved perfectly on cue, "So in that analagy, your trust would be great. If you could handle a woman, that is."

Oh the wonders of having the man finally in her domain. The Galaxy Ball was a nightmare, and now, the tables were turned. Her eyes moved slowly, the dance the two had shared over a year ago played softly in her mind. Jax was most certainly a manipulative bastard, and a good one at that. And she could almost see the entangled political threads that ordered him to be standing before her. The leash of the Empire brought its greatest dog and it yelped before her.

There was something else. "Clear the Command Center." for a moment, the officers, Jedi and Ryan thought she was speaking to Carnor, but then she turned and faced the sudden stares. "Officers, Jedi, Ryan. Please wait outside."

They took a moment to even process her request, and she turned at looked at Carnor Jax. A smirk appeared on her face as Ryan was the last of the officers to step outside of the temporary command center. "Seal the room, disable all forms of recording and listening devices." She was speaking to Eve, and with a click, everything was off. A blaster was on Alatáriël's side, her hand dropped and hovered above. Her fingers grazed the side of it, her eyes not leaving Carnor once.

Uh oh. :P

Security officers were answering radios and moving out. A squadron of X-Wings tour up the sky outside. Rebel officers looked worried.

Surge silently observed every thing, and could tell something was wrong. The way men moved, they way the talked gave up everything about the nature of the problem.

Everything but the problem itself. Damn, he thought, perfect time for the world to go to hell. Quietly, he exited the main building.

If you don't want me involved at all, I'm gone.

Well, stay at the funeral. Note to everyone, the situation with the Imperials is over. Jax and Arlyn is...private. .

After ten minutes the doors burst open again and Jax strode out of the hall, leaving behind a very flustered-looking Arlyn in his wake. The five guards were standing at the transport, weapons still in-hand and raised. Arlyn made a hand motion for Jax to go ahead, and with a smile that was carefully concealed beneath the cowl of his cloak he boarded the transport to go to the funeral.

The trip passed in silence, Ryan staring at Jax and Jax staring out the window at the passing speeders and vehicles, until they arrived at the conference hall. As the doors opened, Jax stepped outside only to be stopped by a hand on his shoulder. The former Sovereign Protector turned to look Ryan in the photoreceptors, the HRD's voice soft. "Keep your nose clean, Jax. We're watching you."

"Me? I'm completely innocent, Ryan... you should know that." With a pivot on his foot and a swish of his cloak he entered the funeral hall and rapidly approached Vader's left hand, the two Sith remaining on their feet on the periphery of the long pews, with the Grand General, the Admiral, and their aide sitting at the end next to them.

Alatáriël Pallanén-Davad watched the cool exit of Carnor Jax, the dismantled smug grin on her face evaporating instantly as her security officers piled into the Command Center. Eve restored the system controls, interlacing her own abilities and reported that the funeral was now running smoothly. Jase Denora tried to gain balcony access, but was denied as all high levels of the funeral were reserved for security officers only.

Moving about her business, the thanagarian watched her husband give the final hand off of Carnor Jax. No doubt many things were being processed in his mind at this moment, but she would have to carefully deviate from the truth. In essence, she could not tell him...not yet.

Chief of State Leia Organa Solo was on several of the security monitors and as Darth Vader and his goons entered the funeral chambers, her look was quite priceless. Calling to her husband, "Ryan. Time for us to change into something less... tactical and little more respectful for the occasion."

"Aye." he stated with less emotion than Arlyn had anticipated. "Deputy Director Herald Taturrmala, you have the Command Center. I'll be at the funeral."

With that, the Chief of Rebellion Security left the temporary headquarters and left to meet her husband in a private room, where their funeral attire waited. They would sit near, if not with, the Chief of State... the thanagarian wanting to be as close to the Rebellion leadership as possible.
