Cyler sat in the Arena entrance, waiting. He loaded his Disruptor Rifle, punched a power pack into his P-19s, and made sure his vibroblade was ready. Then he waited.

Then the door to the Geonosian Arena opened. Cyler stpped out into the brilliant sunlight. He could feel the hot sand beneath his feet. Across the arena, his opponent, clad in briliant red armour appeared. Cyler picked up his disruptor and took aim.

With his armor's magnification, Xaph could see his opponent as if he were just a few paces away, not an entire arena's-lenghth. He was wearing one of those vests--what is it about vests? Every two-bit bounty hunter, smuggler, or anyone trying to look tough wore those vests. The real hunters, they had proper armor.

Xaph drew his assault rifle from it's holster on his back. It was always loaded. A guy like this, he wouldn't last too long up close. The rifle was just for screening his way there.

To Xaph's three'o'clock there was a rock. In a flash, he had his assault rifle up and firing, a spray and pray blast to let him dive into cover. As he did, he looked around at the other boulders that someone had convieniently dotted around the arena, searching for a path that would get him to his quarry.

Cyler easily sidesteped the few bolts the came his way. He uncliped two thermal detonators and hurled them at his opponet, and the nearest bit of cover. Cyler could see his game. And he wouldn't let him play it.

What was it about thermal detonaters? Maybe that's what the vests were for: to hold all the explosive. Sure, Xaph knew the value of a really big bang, but was it worth the danger of spontaneously combusting, and bringing everyone within a 500m radius with you?

Sure enough, he heard the familiar sounds as they headed towards him. One was headed far off to his left, while the other was coming straight towards him. It would have been a nice throw, if only the Force hadn't sent the detonator flying to join the other one. Handy thing, that.

As the two went off, Xaph used the distraction to dart to his other side, taking the long way to his prey. Once again, he screened his path with his assault rigle.

The armour clad figure darted to it's right, popping off shots as it ment. Cyler ducked down, then fired three shots. The thing made it to cover moments before the shots would hade disinigrated him. Cyler tossed laid down three detonators to his right, unprimed. He then ran to his left, shooting, countering the other man's move. He stopped, and tossed two more detonators on either side of the other hunter.

IF that were possible, I think you would have exploded your way to the other side of the planet by now...

He laid them down, not detonating them.

Still, he tossed the other two to his right. You're thinking of a Thermal Det as a frag grenade, and if you edit it, it will be alright, but a det is a MASSIVE explosive.

Hate to butt in guys but your wrong Xaph, only a Class-A Thermal Detonator is the big one. There are weaker military combat grade types.

Quoted from Wookieepedia:

Quote:
The result was an expanding particle field that could atomize any material within the fixed blast radius - typically eight meters, though some had an even greater radius.

I think that Cyler is using the smaller versions, such as in KOTOR and Republic Commando. ;)

Two of them. From either side.

Damn!

Xaph dove forward, hitting the sand hard as the explosions went off on either side on him. He was lucky to have survived it.

"Godsdammit, if you keep chucking those, we'll both get killed!"

That was it. The time for playing was over. Xaph kipped up onto his feet and aimed his assault rifle again. No cover this time, just the merc. He took careful aim, and fired. He took three quick steps forward to his right and fired. He took three to his left, and fired. He advanced towards his opponent in a zig-zagging fashion.
