The station's computer announces: "Detection Grid Thirteen-Twelve-65 Degrees has detected an Imperial-class Star Destroyer."
Several officers rushed over their stations, their fingers clicking across computer screens, while frantically establishing a link to their systems, and the defense network. Several bodyguard droids paused their patrol, their programming taking a remote interest in the screen that displayed the ISD-II class dreadnought.
The Computer continued: "Vessel Identification...processing."
The station's commander, however, wouldn't process and calculate the risks in the time it would take the computer to establish whether the Bogey was friendly, or enemy. "All hands, battle stations."
"Identity Confirmed. The Imperial Star Destroyer Mark II Valiant has arrived. Clearance Codes confirmed. Orbital clearance request, granted. Automatic Defense Grid Synchronozation, initiated."
"Stand down battle station alert," the Commander stated, "Let's give these bastards a warm welcome, eh?" The bodyguard droids' head pivoted, before they continued their patrol routes, just as the Valiant gained clearance to enter orbit. |

Ryan's toes seemingly never touched the ground, as he ran towards the departing Corvette. The ramp ascended, just as he landed, the crew frantically pulling the corvette to it's peak speed, causing it to scream past the Space Port's defenses. Just outside of the gravity well, it jumped to hyperspace. _________________ Ryan Davad

Coronus continued to serve its purpose of safe-housing the Pallanén-Davad family, while maintaining their galactic contacts. No one was allowed knowledge that the planet even existed, except obviously those who resided on it, and even to them, they truly didn't know of it's coordinates. All ships experienced navigational memory loss, and extensive procedures minimized any type of tracking devices.
"Coordinates locked on Geonosis..." one of the pilots mentioned to his companion, as they steered the vessel away. Geonosis served as an outlet, the sixth moon scanned and prepared Coronus vessels for either their final part of departure (ensuring the navigational computer had been erased, scanning the ship, and other routine security measures), or served as the first stop (uploading the navigational computer with temporary coordinates, identifying the crew, scanning the vessels for tracking devices, and even sometimes, bringing a new ship for crew transit).
"....entering hyperspace...three...two...one..." she could feel the intensity of the new speed, a jolt running through her wings as the freighter jumped past lightspeed. Three Elites grunted, their Geonosian exoskeletons pounding against the floor in anticipation. She thought of the idea of introducing them into a bar fight, and smirked at how...unique her soldiers would be. Their arms were grafted with cybernetic beam weapons, with four powerful, versatile legs and a natural thick exoskeleton. Personal shield generators had been modified to extend to their defensive capabilities.
All six of her elite guard played an unique gambling game. In the absence of dice, they rolled strange looking spheres that would hover-spin, and emit strange neon patterns. The victor was the one who had set, and rolled the spheres in anticipation to his opponents. It was a clever game, that boasted both egos, and wit.
"Estimated Time to Arrival: Three Hours and Ten Minutes."
Arlyn closed her eyes, her hands continued to massage her belly. To the Zerconians, Geonosis represented a strange, almost mythological homeworld. They had never lived there, their queens had given birth, but saved their hatching for the day Arlyn had been able to secure a distant colonyworld. Three entire hives were secretly moved, and relocated. It's species being genetically prepared for the new world. Queens had negated the hatching of worker drones, and instead, supplement entire lines of warriors. Providing the strong, militaristic hive: Zerconi.
Geonosis was important, despite their evacuation and departure. It continued to serve as a manufacturer, several means of production, and groomed Coronus with thousands of soldiers after harsh training exercises. It was no longer, however, a planet that Arlyn and her secret world depended on. They had relocated several production teams, and built new factories deep within Ssi-Ruuvi space, several colonized asteroid fields, and continued to negotiate with worlds within the Rebellion (that once served under TLOGS) in order to escape dependency.
Operations resumed rather peacefully, as a matter of fact. Arlyn was left alone, distracted by her need of building a fallback zone and regaining her political allies. She kept tabs, more than any one would have guessed.
Her eyes closed, her thoughts continuing to surround the political events that were about to unfold. It never surprised her how dangerous the ending of a Galaxy Ball could unfold, and this one, had certainly set the bar high. |
