The buzz of sentient life echoed throughout the hangar of the Rebellion Diplomatic Corps. The woman walked, her pace at exactly 1.232 gerzas a second, towards the designated shuttle. The lure of her Replicated Body gained the attention of many male species, some even so bold to whistle upon her approach. They were lucky to carry the diplomatic immunity, otherwise, she may have bruised their egos.

A group of Rebellion operatives greeted the blonde woman, all a little nervous to be within her presence. They lacked the knowledge that she was merely a droid simulated and created to look human, but what they had heard, was probably more terrifying.

Eve was, Commander Evelynn Starr, under a Security Administration directive that permitted her to do many, classified, operations. Although this alias had never existed before, somehow, the reputation had mutuated through the word of mouth. She was, apparently, a strict commander not allowing any room for incompentence, and used Hutt techniques to ensure complete loyalty.

Eve processed their facial expressions, all expressing an amount of fear, curiosity with a backseat of overwhelming attraction. The HRD took the datapadd from the security officer, it held hours of reading, but a simple wireless connection upload allowed her to instantly process and understand the contents.

"Impressive work." She handed the data padd back to the man, "You have several mistakes in the third exhibition, paragraph fifty three."

His eyes lit up frantically searching and apologizing. Eve passed the men, and boarded the shuttle. Her thoughts returned to Alexander Risso, the boy that had mysteriously disappeared. It had been two days, and no sign of the boy...

She frowned unexpectedly, and unkowingly to her, the crew flinched.

A rather pompous duo of men sat in the cockpit of the shuttle, their eyes scanning over the many check lights and switches, before returning to a good laugh at last night's podrace match. Colonel Mrreel turned, his eyes meeting his companion, Captain Yuurls, and together they began the departure regulations.

Speaking between intervals with the Security Checkpoints, Mrreel stated, "Bubcur's pod, shit." Holding the microphone he changed his tone, "GTESD-47 entering departure phase. Confirm." Releasing the microphone, he added, "Shit, man. What a waiste of credits. He could've bought a few more pitdroids, something he needs."

Yuurls allowed a bowl of laughter, ignoring the security officer's monotone response of clearance. "Yeah, but you gotta hand it to the Twi'lek. Never saw that one coming in first."

The Colonel growled, "I know. Lost four hundred credits to that bitch."

The shuttle lifted elegantly, despite the continued speech of winning twi'lek female. The final punch of destination numbers sent the shuttle on a nonstop hyperspace route to Nespis.

Eve is now at Nespis.

The shuttle appeared from its hyperspace lane, the adjustment to normal space typically smooth. Stars aligned from the blue streaks, to the stagnant positions overheard. Eve happened to be looking out the viewpoint of her window, and calculated the journey had arrived three minutes ahead of schedule. Three point six-four, to be exact. Her eyes scanned the view, the supercomputer classifying and observing the mathematical equations to extrapolate their exact position, but the Human Replica Droid consciousness classified the scenery as beautiful. A stargazer's paradise of spectral shapes and the variety of lights the system had, were much more attractive than Denon's.

A rebellion officer stepped into her compartment and relayed the news of their arrival. She didn't need the man to tell her that she had arrived, as it not only obvious, but the Supercomputer had confirmed their position. "Thank you." She told the man.

* * *

Colonel Mrreel and Captain Yuurls sped up the holo-transmission, sending the clearance codes and the respective data to the proper authorities along with the tag line, "Attention Nespis-VIII space fleet, this is scheduled Rebellion Diplomatic Shuttle GTESD-47. Requesting permission to land."

Stresemann had been waiting for the shuttle in the Landing Ops Centre when it came in ahead of schedule. Excellent. A flood of clearance codes and data appeared on the console in front of him, followed by a message. "Attention Nespis-VIII space fleet, this is scheduled Rebellion Diplomatic Shuttle GTESD-47. Requesting permission to land."

Stresemann nodded at the woman who was manning the console, and she said, "Shield grid six is down, docking bay 118 is sealed off and ready to recieve you." Stresemann looked up, barely able to make out the shuttle as it weaved around the warships, gun platforms and mines protecting the city, a necessary evil, and one he was most unhappy about.

Antana, standing at his side, calm and confident in her simple Grand Admiral's uniform, looked proud. The defence systems ran smoothly, which was good. But Stresemann knew that no system was insurmountable. He nodded and smiled at the staff in the Landing Ops Centre, Antana saluting them, and they headed for the lift, Stresemann making sure his suit was straight. He wanted them to be there in person to meet the Rebel delegate.

"Goddamn, they mean business." Yuurls swore as the shuttle barely passed a space mine that was quite larger than the shuttle itself. Receiving the clearance and additional instructions, the shuttle finally began it's descent and through the small opening in the shield grid. Mrreel double checked everything from clearance codes to the vertical exhaust, his eyes looking sharp across the cockpit controls...everything was in order.

The dying blue realm of the day slipped from view as the shade of night crept over the surface of the world. The horizon was absolutely gorgeous, which caused both Mrreel and Yuurls to be momentarily mesmerized.

With a hoot of victory, the shuttle entered the hangar, the nav-computer taken over by the hangar's systems, which glided the Rebellion diplomatic vessel elegantly to it's temporary stop.

"Sequence complete..." Yuurls confirmed, "I'll inform Commander Starr."

* * *

Eve watched with interest as the natives rushed around the shuttle with formal proceedings going above her own expectations. Captain Yuurls entered the room, his cap parting his head for a moment to relay the confirmation of a safe landing.

With a distant sharp hiss, most likely inaudible to human ears, the ramp began to lower. Eve rose from her seat, and began towards the exit...

The air of Nespis registered far more suitable for human life versus the ecumenpolis scape of Denon. Blue eyes scanned the room, the weight of the situation not really pushing against the Human Replica Droid, but she did sense a simulated feeling of anxiety. Jahan Stresemann waited below on docking bay 118's floors with a welcome committee, it seemed, with Antana wearing a Grand Admiral uniform.

The ramp was angled so the crew could leave the shuttle, and walk peacefully without interruption or odd foot movement. Eve continued downwards, her own protection, and the diplomatic corps followed her towards Jahan's position.

Her supercomputer connection ever vibrant of the sorroundings, processing and computing the risks she was taking on this adventure... so far from Rebellion territory and security. The Nespis government had diplomatic relations with the Empire, and stayed relatively neutral during the opening acts of the Imperial attack.

There wasn't much the government could do. A war with Petyr, seemed to confuzzle any kind aid, along with the turn of government power from Antana, to Stresemann in a rather decorative way.

Eve stopped, her female formed body coming to a halt as Yuurls introduced the company to the officials. Jahan was an interesting man, she detected that his suit was fumbled with several times, creating small wrinkles of intensity and anxiety of the meeting. He, calculating the man's personality, most likely wanted to set a good impression...which all humans wanted, more or less, to cou the self-involved care they all possessed.

"I am Commander Evelynn Starr." her words were peaceful and elegant, yet to the point.

The Rebel delegate stopped in front of Jahan, standing tall and elegant, with the sort of poise that probably took years to perfect. She said, matter of factly, "I am Commander Evelynn Starr." A simple greeting, but Stresemann was sure the delegates could work through the frosty relations between the Republic and the Rebellion. The key was honesty and warmth.

Sure that the delegates were suitably protected and had no hostile intent, he nodded to the troopers lining the edges of the landing bay, and they filed off into the city as a Nova fighter sailed past the opening to the docking bay, sillhouetted against the stars.

No time for distractions. "I am President Jahan Stresemann," he replied, offering her his hand, "And on behalf of the people of the Republic of Nespis, welcome."

A friendly smile spread across the Human Replica's face, her body moving forward to take the hand and she shook it. The gesture was entirely human, but she allowed a small escape of laughter. "And I have come on behalf of the Rebellion." She wasn't laughing at Jahan, but showing that she wasn't entirely emotionless, "It's good to be here." Her eyes couldn't express the joy the Rebellion took being with Jahan and his people.

Together, the group moved in a direction of Jahan's choosing. "It's been a while..." Eve stated, accounting the last time the Rebellion officially visited the world, with Arlyn's business interest aside.

Her sensor networks scanning, nonetheless, the expressions and actions of both Jahan and Velora. "Your naval defense is quite impressive." she told the Grand Admiral honestly. "Very impressive." While she was in orbit, she had seen the formation, the deployment (very little, but from what she had seen) even her Supercomputer had been impressed by their work.

"Thank you, Commander," Velora replied, politely, nodding. The party reached a long corridor that snaked around the inside of the main city dome, giving them spectacular views of what was practically an artificial world below them. Once a drab, worn out, rusty collection of ancient buildings, the city was now full of parks and trees that surrounded adamantine towers, glittering skyscrapers and bold examples of ancient architecture in a hodgepodge of styles and cultures that had a beauty in its discordance. Jahan couldn't help smiling when he saw it.

"I thought we could first show you one of Nespis' parks," he said to the Rebel Commander, gesturing to one of the verdant, multi-kilometre* square plots, "I've had tables and a marquee set up in Reichstag Park. We have conference rooms, but I find them a bit stuffy. It'll be quite safe."

The labyrinth of the Nespis hangar was rather stellar to human standards. Eve could tell she wasn't the only one enjoying the walk of the corridor, her comrades who lived on the planet were still taken by the beauty of the design. "The architects did a beautiful job." Her words were sleek, and she accepted the offer of the Nespian leader to explore outdoors.

The air was relatively fresh as the group exited the building, walking in unison and staying quiet to observe the scenery. The simple intricacies were almost beyond the ability to capture at a human's eye, but as Eve, she took in every detail. She was fascinated by nature, especially that of which grew in little to no human or alien interaction. And although the park was groomed to look this beautiful, she couldn't help but to stop in front of a patch of flowers.

Scarlet colors seemed to dance with a magnificent yellow, all with a strange orb in the center. Her hands parted her sides, skimming the surface of the flower which immediately aroused her senses. She could feel the softness of the pedals, the sweet aroma that gently entered her body, and the overwhelming vibration of life and beauty it represented.

Her eyes, captivated with the flower for far too long, turned gently to face Jahan and asked, "What is the name of this flower?" She had little to no reference to it out of the hundreds of trillions of existing flowers. She turned again, waiting for the response of the man as she took in not the flower, but the entire collection of them.

The tiny life they held, the small purpose and the lack of sentience... they would never understand the beauty of which they held. They would never understand how they had affected her or how much they have affected her. But the group behind her, the Nespians and the Rebels, would know. They saw how the patch of flowers caught even her own sensors off line.

Collecting as much data as possible from her ocular sensors, she took a step back to rejoin the group. Her programming returned to the mission and the task Nespian and the Rebellion had called her to perform.

The Commander seemed quite taken with the gardens, stopping for some time in front of a bed of flowers, in rapt appreciation of the fresh blooms. After a while, she asked, "What is the name of this flower?" before stepping back to rejoin the group.

"It's a Nespis Tulip, I think," he replied, as they continued through the park, past gazeboes where young lovers sat and did things that had left Jahan's life years before, and past the great artificial river that wound its way through the seven hundred kilometre* of the main Nespis Rotunda. "They're specially bred here by the Horticultural Society. I can have some sent to your rooms if you'd like."

Jahan appeared kind, his generosity matching the best of politicians. As they walked the park, Eve controlled her programming's interest in the plant life that surrounded them. She answered, "I would enjoy that, very much. Thank you."

Against the peaceful nature of the park, Eve continued with her mission, "The Rebellion has assumed treachery from the Galactic Empire for some time." She paused as a distant girl erupted into laughter, and continued shortly after the girl calmed down, "In fact, we have never suspected the Empire would stay at peace..."

She motioned for Captain Yuurls to produce the datapadd in question and extended the information to Antana and Stresemann. "We have confirmation from the Intelligence Department they are arming for war. Whatever rumors you've heard, they are most likely true."

The report contained very vague, yet evidence of a military increase that would likely lead to invasion or massive offensive fronts. Her voice was vague, emotionless to the death tolls that would most likely amount in the wake of the reborn war. "It's clear to both parties of my mission. To strengthen our own relations, and ultimately, undermine the Galactic Empire in various ways." The diplomatic fluff could be left aside, Eve calculated the seriousness of Grand Admiral Antana, and expected she would be pleased they jumped right to the point.

Then again, humans had a strange way of being extremely complicated and inverse to expected reactions...

Jahan read the datapad very carefully, nodding slowly to himself, and feeling a twinge of pride whenever he noticed something that Nespian intelligence services had also observed. Still, the datapad was grim reading, and when he had finished the President handed it to Antana, who started to read it.

"It's clear to both parties of my mission. To strengthen our own relations, and ultimately, undermine the Galactic Empire in various ways," Evelynn said, matter of factly. Jahan noticed that Velora gave a nod of her own at the conclusion of that short, blunt statement. He turned away from the Rebel, and looked out over the cityscape beyond the ersatz wilderness. Up above, the stars were mottled by the vast fleets arrayed around the station. Much as he'd hoped, there really was no way of avoiding war that had the virtue of being morally right. The die was cast.

He turned back to Evelynn as Velora finished reading the datapad. He nodded at the Rebel Commander, and said, firmly, "I've suspected foul play from the Empire for some time. You've been standing against them since the beginning, and it's clear you must soon stand against them again." He smiled. "But not alone."

As Jahan spoke, she could almost feel the relief from the Rebellion diplomats around her. Eve politely returned, "Thank you, President. It is a decision both our peoples will never regret." The Supercomputer connection transmitted the information to the Caprician, the vessel that carried Ryan Davad and Arlyn. Their governments were the first, the majors of the side of democracy and freedom. The chess board was beginning to set, the pieces moving against each other. Soon, the first kill and taken piece would be initiated. And for the sake of the space city, she hoped it would not be the Nespian people that would be the first to suffer the acts of war.

Were they brave enough? Were these humans able to amount to the words they have spoken here today? Nothing was positive, Eve had learned, nothing was definite until the moment came to be. They could not imagine the horrors that laid ahead. The recordings, the stories, the witnesses of trillions had pledged their stories, their evidence, their lives over databanks, and Eve had found it extremely destructive. Not only to the worlds which billions lived, but to individual 'souls' that would be forever changed.

Jahan and Velora appeared to hold valor, but the human intelligence and sentience seemed to changed when faced with the acts of war. The purpose was to slaughter, to control, to defend, to mutilate the enemy into destruction. Both were elected and held promises to do both, in not so many words, but in the simple alliance that was proposed between the two peoples.

Together the Rebellion and the Nespian forces would clash against an inconceivable Imperial military . Together they would defend, they would conquer, they would both defeat, and be defeated on vast battlefields that stretched across the galaxy. Together they faced the most powerful faction the galaxy had ever known, and together they would either defeat the Imperials, or yield to unending terror.

Eve shook the man's hand, the aerial creatures chirping to their own satisfaction...unaware of the deal that was made here today. Eve spoke, attempting to fill her voice with the entire gratitude of the Rebellion, "Together." and finished the handshake.
